this dark comedy like other coen bros films is full of vivid characters, brought to life by A list movie stars. the characters are put through the paces of a wonderfully bizarre and intricate story surrounding osborne cox(malkovich)'s missing memoir. the action is pretty tense all the way through, with brief scenes of comic relief(there's a goofy scene where george clooney unveils a secret chair he has constructed in his basement.) i can't really recommend it over some of the better coen bros movies- it probably won't convince the uninitiated, but if you know what you're looking for i think you'll be entertained.
