Screaming Mechanical Brain

Screaming Mechanical Brain is an innovative four piece rock band that refers to themselves as The pioneers of video game metal.  To try and enclose them into any one sub-genre of rock would be completely impossible since their style is unlike any other.

Screaming Mechanical Brain (or SMB ) blends the stylings of hard rock with mind pumping electronica and samples from everyones most favorite old video games like Tetris and Pac man.   Their lyrics are political in nature yet done in a hilarious satirical manner which makes them fun to listen to yet they still crank the thinking wheels of your brain.

The members that make Screaming Mechanical Brain great are:

Reverend John Wheeler IV-Vocals, keytar, and samples:  Reverend John has similar vocal stylings to the legendary punk rock singer Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys fame.  In addition to singing this phenomenal front man also plays the keytar which allows him to show his wacky energy on stage.

Owen Good III-Guitar:  I personally blame Owen for getting me addicted to this band in the first place.  Not only does this man play the sexiest and most creative guitar riffs in the Twin Cities, he is extremely fun to watch on stage.  His bright Orange hair and clothing will spark your curiosity and the fact that he can mosh in the pit while never missing a chord will convince you that this man is on his way to being one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived.

Bryan Da Gimp Pierson-Electronic drums, loops, and samples:  Bryan creates all kinds of interesting drum beats and sounds with his rather impressive electronic kit that helps give Screaming Mechanical Brain their unique catchy sound.

Cass Nee-Bass and additional keyboards:  When it comes to talent, Cass Nee defiantly has it.  His bass licks will have you bumping your head to each and every Screaming mechanical brain song.  He also plays mandolin and slide guitar on a few songs.

Screaming Mechanical Brain has two albums out on Atomic K records, Process of Assimilation and There Is No God in Space.  Check them out on Myspace, Check them out on their website, buy their albums and become a dedicated fan for life.

This could turn out to be a really sweet deal if it takes off!  Especially for all the music lovers here on AP.  Having a site dedicated to promoting new bands is awesome.  It's a great way to spread diversity and help get new sounds out and up.

The lay out looks pretty good for both the site and the blog.  When something is new, there is always room for growth, but this is a really good start as far as I can see.

Perhaps in the future you can expand to Canada (where I'm from).  Here in the city I live, there is a venue that promotes all Indy, and other local music talent.  Small-time bands from all over Canada have stopped in on their tours.

Best of luck in all that you do!
