Touching on Cage-like timbres, Partch inspired atonalities and modern free-improvisation, there is no imitation here. You simply have not heard anyone play or even approach the acoustic guitar in this fashion. This entire 7 song album has been connected to form an affordable 38 minute 'one track' download. Undefinable and uncompromising, narrow descriptions that is just part of the beauty and startling originality of this recording/composition. Those faint of ear should probably look elsewhere... This is van Rensburg's 2nd release of 2008, and his very 1st release to feature only guitar. No edits or overdubs, although one track has Andre playing 5 micro-tuned guitars simultaneously.
