While the big bad world seems to be full of overpriced alcohol, closing
clubs (bye bye the End), credit crunches, snowstorms and public
transport chaos, we at Critical are determined to inject a bit of good
old fashioned joy into these dark times. To kick off, our first release
of the year is the Poster Girl EP, a blistering double vinyl pack due
out at the end of Feb featuring four tracks by Silent Witness that have
already caught the attention of the finest ears in town. 'A surprising
but refreshing cocktail of clipped vocals, new-wave-style bass and
jangly guitar licks,' the EP's title track is a killer tune taking up
residence on all the best plates this February. Head to the Critical
website at www.criticalmusic.com to hear that along with the four other
crackers, Transworld, Blackhole and Hinterland.

Next up, taking the dark and brooding roller? that was Spectrasoul's
Alibi, we've only gone and got it remixed by Bristol bad boy, Break. Due
for release in March, this is a serious remix of a serious tune and we
at Critical are very proud to be bringing you the product of these hot
young talents. On the flipside, space funky Organiser completes an
awesome release on the back of a bumper twelve months for Spectrasoul.
Head to the forthcoming section of the website for audio.

In other news there'll be a fresh podcast up on the website from label
boss Kasra within the week and look out for the label's all new artwork,
due to hit the shelves with release number CRIT038, as well as a hot
Critical competition.

musings from Kasra as well as pics, tunes and general dnb goodness.
