I performed my first big gig in quite a while this past Saturday. I was hired to play for 2 hours at a private party in Mariemont - and I really wanted to impress! I practiced and prepared more than I had for anything since I was in a band in the mid-90's. On my way to the house, I became so nervous that my heart was pounding - I could even feel it pounding in my neck! I had to remind myself that they hired me because they liked my sound, that there was no reason to be nervous, and that if I made any mistakes, most likely no one would notice. I arrived with plenty of time to spare, which allowed me to set everything up on their beautiful stone patio without having to rush. Tiki torches were lit all around, and they opened their French doors, giving me a view of their beautiful living space. The hosts were very nice and informed me that there would be 95 people. I had been expecting a small group, so that was quite a shock to me! The 2 hours flew by, and I played most of my originals. The hostess told me it was exactly what she had wanted, that it was perfect, etc, which gave me an immense and much-needed boost. The gig was a great experience and will hopefully lead to more party gigs for me.
If you know anyone who would like entertainment at their party that's a little more unique than your typical cover band or DJ, please forward my information to them. My email address is supportharmony@peacemail.com. I'd really appreciate it!
Have a great day, everybody! ~Harmony
