Yeah, so I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on opening day.  I loved it.  It was all I could expect from and Indy flick and it fit in nicely with the other sequels in my opinion.  And I can see why some folks didn't like it because they had a different movie in mind before they went to see it and, let's face it, no movie could live up to all the hype.  But damn if some folks aren't going all Phantom Menace on it.  They not only dislike the film, they HATE it.

And when you ask them why, they give you a whole list of reasons, but when you show them how everything they've pointed out makes the film no different from the ones that preceded it, they just stop.  And then say 'well I hated it anyway.'

Marion wasn't active enough in KOTC?  Tell me what she did in Raiders besides drink a guy under the table and get kidnapped.  At least in this one she got to drive the truck!

Action set pieces unbelievable?  Wait, the minecar chase in Temple of Doom was realistic?

Too much talking?  Uh, Indy explaining every clue along the way in Last Crusade was just enough expository dialog for you?

The MacGuffin wasn't believable?  So a cup that makes you age centuries instantly if you drink from it, or a box that melts your face off when you look into it is?

I don't get it, honestly.  If you didn't like the film because it didn't meet your unreachable expectation and you were too tired at that midnight showing to appreciate it for what it was, then I'm sorry.

But don't tell me that I'm wrong for liking it, cuz that just pisses me off.

Iron Man is one of the best comic-book movies ever made to date. I talk about it some more on my blog http://comicculturewarrior.wordpress.com as well as on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/comicculturewarrior

Check those postings out and let me know what you think!
