Hello Everyone!

I haven't posted a blog entry on here for ages, so I figure I may as well put something up and fill you guys (or whoever could be bothered to read this!!) on what's happening.

2007 was lots of fun... lots of traveling around Europe and getting to play with lots of great people over there and here in Aus! Got to do some cool gigs with "Straight Up!" before leaving for Europe, but that was the last time we've played together in a very long time unfortunately!

2008 has seen me traveling a fair bit as part of the international tour of "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - The Musical". I spent the first 6 months of this year in Melbourne and Auckland which has been lots of fun! The show is on a break at the moment which has given me time to start working on my own material for an eventual solo album release!!!
I am also starting a new project with bassist Jeremy Alsop and drummer Mark Charters which will be very exciting! We will be getting into the studio in Melbourne in late September to start work on our first recording! We aim to develop a new and exciting sound using many different techniques and new technological advancements... stay tuned for further updates!

I'm also very happy to say that I will be returning to Canberra to perform for the ArtSound FM "Friday Night Live" series on October 24 - 8PM till 10PM with my own group THE MICHAEL AZZOPARDI "INNER CIRCLE" QUINTET! The group will consist of Canberra's finest musicians including my old "STRAIGHT UP!" buddies Eric Ajaye on bass and Chris Thwaite on drums... needless to say I can't wait to play with them again! Joining them will be Niels Rosendahl on saxes and Anna Thompson on violin! We'll be playing some of my originals as well as some Straight Up tunes and others - tune in, it should be good!!!
I love going to Canberra to play with the great musicians down there and hopefully I'll have more opportunity to do it later this year!

That's really about it. If you bothered to read this - thanks very much... hope I didn't waste too much of your time!

Take care!

Michael
