I recently had the pleasure of composing new music for a couple of scenes from the film "The Nightingale Princess" (see: http://www.thenightingaleprincess.com/).

It had its premiere at 8pm on Saturday, May 6th, in Franklin Patterson Hall @ Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, and is now being 'finished' as a prelude to submitting it to film festivals.

It was made by
OCD Productions (Owen Granich-Young, Christopher Dreisbach and Daniel Gilbert), three student filmmakers at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts (now graduates).

It's an incredible mix of live action narrative, fantasy, and animation, and uses music from a group of composers.

When asked the question, "What is this movie about? The trailer leaves a lot to the imagination..." one of the filmmakers replied, "Some of the themes in the movie are fantasy vs. reality, escapism, isolation, betrayal, trust, and some other stuff too. How's that for a vague answer!" My take is that it is all that and more, and features some excellent acting as well as stunning visuals.

By going to the above website, you can see the trailer, and join 'The Nightingale Princess' mailing list. It will be used to update people about the official DVD, festivals, screenings, and other fun stuff...
