Got an early start heading back to
Toronto. Craig Rose and I grabbed a cheap room at Days Inn, and
Rites and Decay slept in the van again. Everyone was in rough shape,
and we had to wake up Dave Slaughterhouse on the ground next to the
van for a jump cause our battery died from cranking tunes all day Thursday. A
few minutes later and we were on the road back to Toronto. Craig and
I handled driving duties and we stopped in at Tim Hortons so Rites
could puke in the bathroom.
The drive went by pretty quick. Before
dropping the van off at Craig's we picked up a box of cd's we had
mailed to us since we were running pretty low. Everyone went home
after and puked their brains out and had a nice little nap. Met up
at Craig's again around 5, BBQ'd some welfare burgers, drank a few
PBR's, cranked some Lee Aaron "Call of the Wild" and hit
the road to Milton. Al Chambers and Steve Demise came along for the
ride this time.
We pulled up to the church, and
listened to some Gowan in the van. Chris, Steve and I made a poutine
and beer run and bought some more ice for the rapidly diminishing
cooler contents. The basement of the church was more like a high
school gym. We felt like we were playing a lunch time benefit show.
Decay swore a bunch of times on stage to the disapproval of everyone
watching. Also the phrase "We're gonna rock this church"
was repeated numerous times. Needless to say it felt good not
playing completely fucking hammered like the night before.
Next up were the Toxic Slaughter boyz
who ripped it up good and got some pushing and shoving going with the
junior bangers up front. They played a short and sour set and left
everyone wanting the church rocked a little more. Made some pretty
awesome merch sales and packed up around midnite. We hung out in the
lot and met a couple bangers from Ottawa who came all the way down
just to catch our set, as well as some friends from Toronto who
caught a ride back with us. The party ended up at Jason's place
later on but Chris, Craig and I all fucked off.

Woke up in that parking lot in a haze. The Cauldron boyz and I managed
to get ourselves out of the band for another round of Nasty Ronnies.
When we got back to the vans most of the Toxic boys were sleeping on
the ground in the crowded parking lot. We jump in the van and got all
fired up and headed out.
We
got to Windsor just ahead of the Toxic boyz. We hit the local Dr Disc's
for some record finds. There were a few things with good prices. The
boyz and I picked up some Saxon, Warlock, Lee Aaron, Black and Blue,
Raven, Rigor Mortis and a nice Roadrunner - 100% pure metal sampler.
Decay decided to fuck with Chambers record buying mentality by placing
metal records at the front of each row of the new arrivals. So when
Chambers came in the store it would like seven rows of Metal records.
Chains and Decay hung around til the Toxic boys got there and Chambers
totally went for it. He thought he hit paydirt with this massive metal
section. "Ahh no way", he could be heard saying
By the time we
got to Windsor we were all hankerin for a good old BBQ. Toxic had a BBQ
in the trailer so we set up shop behind the club. It wasn't long until
we were grillin corn, cranking Accept and shotgunning endless PBR's.
This seemed to go on for hours and it totally did. There were skull
cuts going on, backyard wrestling, Running Wild sing-alongs. It was all
getting pretty insane for like five hours and then someone from the
club showed up. "You guys can't drink back here", they kept saying or
something. Well in Windsor they don't really get into enforcing
anything so we just kept drinking and making more runs to the beer
store when we were running low on those PBR's.
About eight hours
of this went on until it was Cauldron's set time. Everyone was so
wasted. Chambers had to set up the drum kit for Rites and the boyz
stumbled on stage. The Cauldron boyz then began to play a very special
rendition of their set. Obviously paying more attention to not falling
off the stage, than to the actual playing of the songs, the boyz gave
each gem it's own unique spin where some songs were now about making
'fat chicks skinny again' and others were 'not to be worried about'
The
Toxic boys fared a little better and slaughtered the faces of the 400+
kids and crust. The merch and shots were flowing like crazy and the
party that seemed to last forever continued. Decay and Rites eventually
got lost in the streets of downtown Windsor and the only people they
could ask for help were wiggers. But it seems everytime Decay asked a
wigger at 3am where the Chubby Pickle was they just made fun of him.

Wednesday June 3/09
Huge fucken show in Sarnia! Got to the venue around 4 waiting to load in. Then called the TOXIC boyz who said they were also at the venue. We didn't see em and it made more sense to leave the Trinity Ukrainian Church parking lot and head over to the Trinity Lounge, where we were in for a real treat. We had to wait until 6 to load in, so we sat in the van and watched what appeared to be some kind of weekly gathering of nerds. More and more of them started showing up with stilts and bongos. We were surprised no one fell and lost all their teeth on the pavement. At 6 we had to back the van up to the club and slowly the congregation dispersed. The club had some charm to it. It felt more like we were loading into a hotel than a gig. The owner is a huge fan of taxidermy too. There were supposed to be 5 bands playing, but 2 of them forgot to show up. I guess there's other cool stuff to do in Sarnia than play a show, but anyway we were on a lot earlier than intended. We didn't see too many people coming into the place, but by the time we went on stage the place was packed with 600-700 crusts and metalheads! We set up our gear on the floor instead of the stage cause that's how the crusts like it. The show went over a storm and nobody died, except maybe that kid outside who got his head kicked in. Toxic played all Poison songs and we aimed the smoke machine at Al's head. It looked pretty cool. We all went to the local strip bar after the show to make last call. Jason got kicked out right away for some reason. Afterwards we ate at Nasty Ronnie's and then kept it true and all slept in the van.
Windsor shit-show update comin' atcha live!

Tuesday June 2/09Just getting up from the return from Hamilton last
night. "It was a bit of a Tuesday-nighter, but still a decent gig." Still one of the better turnouts to be seen in Hamilton for a while,
even when me and Jason played in THOR. It's always a good omen when
there are patch vest denim dudes outside the gig. Unfortunately they
were just in line for the Mexican restaurant next door. Word on the
street was that there was a record store worth going to called
CHEAPIES. After being heckled by wiggers on every street corner we
finally made it there, to be rewarded with all the SANTERS and Emerson
Lake and Palmer "Tarkus" records we could handle. I picked up the KISS
- Music From the Elder lp
and Craig picked up a DIOXIN tape. Not the greatest finds, but they
were pretty cheapie. Made it back to the gig, checked out OVERFIEND
who played the other night as well, and then hit the stage. Pretty
good all around, no tripping over cables, played about 7 songs but
didn't get to add another new album track due to time restrictions.
Good to see some OMEN and TANK patches in the crowd. Well, that one
guy. Sold some records and cds which we're now running dangerously low
on, so stop buying them!
SLIK TOXIK HOLOCAUST were headed for a
helluvatime and slimed up all the greasy skulls up front. We're headed
for Sarnia tonite, see you in hell!

Monday June 1/09So we just played the first of 6 shows around southern ontario with Toxic in St. Catherines. It was a bit of a monday-nighter, but still a decent gig. Major down time before the show last night that resulted in a weekends worth of drinks before the show. A couple songs in I got my foot tangled in some PA cables and fell spinning backwards and smashed my face off the side stage wall. I'm rocken a bit of a bruise there today. This was a small stage, so next up I got my foot caught on Chris's drums and came tumbling backwards over his cymbals and toms. I for sure though the boys we're gonna think I was drunk, but I thought we played a pretty decent set considering. So we came back to TO last night to crash. I was supposed to work today before we head out to Hamilton tonite, but I didn't make it in. Off to so-called steel-town tonite, which I think is better known as shitty ol Hamilton. See you at the...
