ITALIA WAVE LOVE FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE ITALIAN BAND 'THE MOJOMATICS' AT EUROSONIC NOORDERSLAG 2009 23rd year of the festival dedicated to European new coming talents
The Italian band 'The Mojomatics' has been selected by Italia Wave Love Festival to represent Italy at the 23rd edition of 'Eurosonic Noorderslag', the European music festival that this year will take place from the 15th to 17th January 2009 in Groningen (Holland), supported by the European Community.
The Mojomatics performed last July at Italia Wave Love Festival in Livorno and then toured in South Africa for 5 gigs, thanks to the Fondazione Arezzo Wave Italia (fAWI) and the Italian Institute of Culture in Pretoria, in Johannesburg and at the music festival Oppikoppi, partner of fAWI.
Born in 2003, The Mojomatics captured the attention of the European public after only two years of activity thanks to the debut album 'A sweet mama gonna hoodoo me', published by the German label Alien Snatch. Second album 'Don't pretend that you know me' produced in March 2008 by Ghost Records also got a good success and Mojomatics made an European tour before being released also in the US.
Now the band is ready to fly to Holland and perform at Eurosonic Noorderslag next January, 15th.
Eurosonic Noorderslag is one of the most important European appointment for contemporary music. Dutch city Groningen will host the event in the weekend between 15th and 17th of January. The Mojomatics will perform the first evening, Thursday 15th, in the DE BEURS. The same evening: Frank Turner (gb), The MOOoD (roe) and The Kilians (de). The evening is sponsored by the German magazine VISIONS.
Italy will also be represented by Baustelle (presented by Rai Radio 1) and by Jennifer Gentle. Eurosonic is an important window for bands: Franz Ferdinand for example were launched here some years ago. FAWI and Italia Wave Love Festival promote every year Italian music taking part with the best new talented Italian bands.
