..My review of Dear Children:..................Yours For Mine - "Dear Children"............This rock and roll band from Virginia begins their CD with a post-techno/industrial track which when played backwards turns out to be a 45 second clip from "Larry King Live" reversed. The first actual track "Absence In Elegance" begins with a very 311/Red Hot Chili Peppers feel, however is completely ruined by the hardcore screaming and moshing which comes through around midpoint in the song. The song then returns to a bridge reminiscent of LFO, and then abruptly ends. Other highlight tracks on this CD include "What Happened To Us?" where lead singer Chad Testa uses such vocal stylings as those of Bono, and Chad Kroeger. Another notable mention is "Frank Sinatra", which begins with a post-experimental-retro-vintage-pre-post-psychadelic-ambient guitar layering part, returns to the hardcore screaming which this reviewer is frankly not fond of, and then returns to a more mellow part in which the band's overall lyrical mindset of economical awareness and fiscal responsibility becomes obvious.............This band is musically tight, however lacks lyrics regarding inabilities to breathe, feelings, and overall darkness, shadows, and bats.................Rating: 5/5 (only because I want free Sheetz)............
