April 28, 2008 - Monday
hello everyone,

so, as most of you know, moros is no longer a band. since we left everything so ambiguous, i felt really terrible about not explaining the situation. it really had nothing to do with victory, really. i think it started when our van died this past november. we were in the middle of some navajo reservation for about eight hours and i thought a lot about things. things led to other things, deej quit the band a few weeks later, and we eventually came to the conclusion that we didn't really feel up to the task of playing this kind of music anymore. it's kind of tiring to sing almost every day about things that are always bothering you, without ever coming to any final conclusion. without getting to philosophical, it was just the band's time, and we have already started moving on to other things, musically and personally, that is.

first off, bobby (aka hottest drummer ever) is alive and well in georgia and living the good life. he and deej are starting a band together right this very moment, playing the best dirty garage rock that has yet to be created. watch out for that.

second, james "christopher" firebaugh is also in georgia, making alt-country jams with our dear friend greg. there is a chance that he is possibly (i don't know if ANYTHING is positive for sure) going to be playing in a band you all might have heard of.

lastly, i have moved to the wonderful city of denver. the thin air and low oxygen is the only thing keeping the cancer from eating me alive. no, i'm just kidding. i had to through a little CONTACT quote in there. i am, actually, in denver, living with my dear friend adam. the both of us almost have half of a record done for our special brand of melancholy weirdo pop. we are still deciding on a name, because if anybody knows anything about being in a band, coming up with a GOOD name is the hardest (and most annoying) part...just look at OUR name...yikes. a full length will be released this year on a label we have yet to decide on. i also have a visual soul thing going on, but i need a female singer. if you know of any in the denver area, please let me know (zachtipton@gmail.com), because my dream of starting a motown group while i'm not recording with adam has yet to be fulfilled.

for some final moros news, i have one acoustic song that i'd like to put up here called "sun collapses". i don't know when it will be up, but when it does, it will be available for download for a little bit, then taken down...just for my own selfish reasons.

i'm very sorry to everyone who we never had the chance to play for. i wish i had the chance to meet everyone who appreciated our music, but i'm sure in some way or another, we'll meet face to face soon. we put out an EP, 2 LPs, 2 music videos, and one fan-made video (although, i guess that doesn't count). we tried our best to make music that people would love as much as we did and i hope we succeeded.

thank you and look out for the future.

thank you very, very much for writing this. i'm still going to cry a lot.

a lot.

...A LOT. I'm not even lying when I say Moros Eros was my all time favorite band. Do you still have any old merch (tee shirts or albums) that I can get a hold of before they're g..'[[
I still don't see how your reasons for quitting match up with starting up again somewhere else, but I guess I've never experienced that myself. I respect your decision as a group. I will keep a lookout for your new stuff, all of you. I'm even going to save this blog into my iPod.

I love you. This hurts. I love you.

<3Crystal.

[ps] I hate your van too.

though its kinda depressing that you guys broke up, i'll tell you that i will be looking for all of your projects in the future and i'm pretty excited for them. and hey, who knows, maybe moros eros will be one of those short lived bands that nobody knows about at first, but the reputation will grow over the years and you'll be this like...huge, legendary band. and everybody will be jealous that i managed to snag some copies of your albums. well...sorry for ranting...but good luck!

You are a lot more lucid than I would be in your situation. Even though you never made it down under, your vibes are reaching us here in Australia. Best of luck...we'll be listening for the new stuff out of all the new projects.

i remember when i got the request from in vitro.

i listened to the music and i fell in love.
(Cursive now had competition for best band of all time)

i remember checking diligantly the myspace hoping for shows near mobile so i could drive(they never came, but i istened and looked anyway)

i remember when the cds came out and i hounded the local record stores to find my listening treasure. i remember seeing that you guys were going on tour with newlondonfire and wishing i could go(i didnt of course).

Most of all i remember hearing wrecking ball some few years ago and having chiseled into my brain, and all the times where i would burst into song and the warm feeling that would engulf me.
I remember thinking "these guys our inside me, they are a part of me!"

so id like to thank you from that little awkward kid that was so generously added by an amazing band that changed his life.

and though moros eros may be dead, and in vitro might be some french band.

a part will always be alive with me.

I'm sorry to hear of the break-up. I truly enjoy Moros's music and try to share it with anyone I think might like it. I had recently written a review of the latest album in an e-zine, and hinted in it that if the band didn't get more support from their label, more people wouldn't get to experience them. Its a real shame.

Zach you have a great voice though I can't picture it in a doo wop setting, I wish you all the best in your future projects. I'll be watching out for you down the road. You reference to being a melancholy-pop band, made me laugh because the term I use for my music is "melancholy nostalgia". All the best. Thanks for the great songs.

That really sucks that you guys cut the band!!! You guys were one of the few bands out there that actually had a different sound compared to all the other mainstream crap!!!

I remember that time you had your van break down!! I was waiting for you guys when you were scheduled in San Antonio, Tx.

Thankfully you guys are happy and still doing what you love!! Hope to hear from y'all soon!!

Curses to the van! So, luck would have it that I live in the Denver area, but was visiting friends in Utah when you guys played Denver. And due to the problems with the van, ya'all never made it to Utah to play.
Oh well, that's what doomed cupid! On the other hand, fuck yeah, you're in Denver!!!! Will be looking you up!

And, as it goes, all good things must come to an end. I got a chance to go to Columbus and see you guys once, which was amazing, might I add. I am starting a band with my buddy Brett under the name H-RfC, and we can only hope to get as big as you guys were. You are our role models, and we thank you for kickstarting us into music. The autographs you guys put on my shirt may have faded, but my love for your music will live on.
Peace and long life, Moros Eros!

YOU singing about the things that are bothering you is what leads US to a final conclusion in our own lives. You take on a certain responsibily as an artist and at some point its not about you. No kudos! NOoooo kudos...
