Peace Process

It was all very well
me pushing a brick
out of the wall
in order that
I could hold your hand,

But then

when the whole bloody thing
came tumbling down
we were left wide-eyed,
smiling, and saying
"How the hell did that happen?"

It happend quickly, without warning, like it always does.  "Big Smile".
Wide-eyed and smiling is a good process, and a good way to think of you.

"me pushing a brick
out of the wall"

That might be your best metaphor.
I'll bet the brick fell hard.

What a lovely comment Shirley, Thank you.

I like that new picture too.

"Wide eyed and smiling" is such a good feeling as you rightly say.

Sounds like the peace process to me, yep, yep.  Too much hand holding, too little insight.

or sometimes life throws us a curve ball  and we have been so complacent or so freakin sure in our stance that we didnt see it coming...all the same in life, love and friendship...

it would be nice if all of it are good  though....

Perfect, succinct, send this to the UN to be inscribed on the wall! Rare that a poem is so personal and universal at the same time.

Simple and deep. I love holding hands, too. There's a certain complex simplicity in this that can make our day so much better. And it does bring us peace. Very nice ; )

Thank you Claudia,

Strange how it is the simple things - like holding hands - which make all the difference.

Two Thousand Eighty-Four

Little bit of subterfuge maneuvering within the lines of this very expressive poem, poet. Gotta watch out for those falling bricks, but sometimes it is worth the effort and the bruises to get to a good point.
