After a long and leisurely process, my new album “The Wilderness” is ready to be released into the wild. I have been fairly quiet during this process, but now that it’s all done, I’m about to get quite chatty!
In the lead up to the record’s release, I will be involved in a really exciting project called Pledge Music. Pledgemusic.com is a site created by a musician by the name of Benji Rogers (aka Marwood). In short it is an innovative fun way for musicians and their fans to empower themselves outside the parameters of the old record company way of doing things. The musicians raise funds for projects like recording, touring, promoting or any other kind of project with a specific budget. They do it through their fans, by offering fun incentives ranging from the obvious (the album itself) to the more exotic (e.g. private house concerts) and everything in between and beyond. It will prove to be empowering to all involved, as the artist gets to see their vision through all the while getting closer to their fanbase. I have put a lot of thought into the incentives and I really look forward, to sharing the experience with you. The link to my pledge site is on the home page, so click and check it out!
This new site was designed by my longtime dearest friend, Maurice Redmond. A talented graphic designer Maurice (www.mauriceredmond.com) along with his fiancée Sanjini, herself an extremely talented artist, have created the artwork to accompany the album and the website. I am blessed to have their involvement, and I can’t wait for you all to see their whole vision.
So , yeah, the bitch is back. I’m psyched. Stay tuned for lots more stuff in the coming weeks and days.
