Current mood:  grateful
Category: Music
Hi Gang!

Many of you that know me only by my Rock and Pop material on my album "You Like It Clean" might be surprised to learn that I am also an avid Country music songwriter.  Back in March, it was announced that one of my self-penned Country songs,
"102 (Songs About You)", was named a FINALIST song in the Country category of the International Songwriting Contest.

I'm thrilled the song was singled out in such a prestigious contest, and out of 15,500 total entries (wow!).  Although, as indicated below, there were 287 finalists across all music categories, my song was one of only 14 Country songs selected for that category.

This was the ISC announcement message I received of my finalist status:

"Dear Lynn Carey Saylor,

The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has announced its
finalists today. Congratulations, the song "102 (Songs About You)" that
you entered in Country has been selected as a finalist.

Being selected an ISC finalist is an accomplishment that acknowledges
true songwriting talent. With only 287 finalists chosen out of over
15,500 entrants, this is an extraordinary achievement, and we are very
pleased to offer our congratulations.
"

"102 (Songs About You)" is an unreleased song, was written entirely by me and tracked in Nashville by some amazing musicians a few months ago.  Special thanks to Steve Mandile for producing the track based on my demo and Joanna Janet for singing it.

Aside from the industry picked finalists and winners, there was also a separate  "People's Choice" award given to the one finalist song across all genres that received the most fan votes.  I am pleased to report that my song received the most votes of ANY finalist song in the Country category and came in 13th overall out of the 287 finalist songs for the People's Choice award.  That, to me, is as significant as the finalist nod, as it's an acknowledgment from the fans, without whom I wouldn't have a music career, and so I thank you all very much who took the time to vote for the song for doing so!

You can download my finalist song for FREE (as well as all finalist songs) from the "People's Choice" poll page:

Much Love,

xo Lynn Carey Saylor

there is a certain familiarity hearing your name or your songwriting skills mentioned in the same vein as cream of the crop , top of the list , the most popular or voted for .. winner !! as this is a reoccurring theme with you and your work lynn ! many of us have realized this quality that surrounds you for many years now .. and have grown accustomed to what has become a reasonable certainty ..a "fact of lynn life" as it were .. a precursor to the barometer that measures a successful songwriting career and without any doubt ..in any sense or form of the word ..on any given day ...that you are a success in any form of measurement or context ! congrats and salutations my friend ! you are the best-est :)
