Current mood:  disgusted

I guess being on the road with an actual hard working, dedicated and ambitious band opened my eyes. I know exactly what it is like to be on the road busting your ass for that dollar; driving miles to play in front of those five fans. Which also means that I know what its like when the door just didnt meet what was needed for a payment. Its part of the game. That is when you have to bring out your "Buisness" side of your music and make sure you check the numbers that are there and releaze the best deal was made, while still upholding the common professionalism to leave with your dignity. When an out of state band is in town either for the first time, or first time within a few years, it is expected to have mutual respect for the local bands, fans and promoters trying to help them on there way. Especially when the hard working local brings 90% of the crowds watching.
It's an act of not only extreme disrespect to the supporting bands, fan and venue to use an extreme case of Ego-ignorence, but completely unprofessionalism to show your ways in front of the fans. Its is widely know that, Blaque Promotions, Bourbon Street, The Mother of Metal, PhotographistDKC (Draven), and Tampa Bay Metal Scene to name a few of our team, but these are the names people relate to honest, caring, and loyal buisness in this FL area. We are known for going out of our way to make sure the bands are fairley (and over fairley) componsated for there work they put in and the love of what there doing.
It's truley a sad day to know that it seems like the greater good of where this all started from, The love of music, is few and far in between. A band who portrays themselfs as exactly what they are; such as last night, loses a great deal of respect and fans such as they did. If you know who this bulliten is directed to, here is an understanding of the complete childish behavior of last night. If not, then take this as an observation of what some (by far not all) bands that were once highly respect, are coming to.

Stay True. Stay Honest. Stay Loyal.
Do it for the love of music.

I would like to thank all of those who stood up for the the music scene last night. You guys are the best. As far as the other guys... I think the message is clear.

  Thank You for your time,
Feel free to message any thoughts.

of course it is not professional to do it, but I'm the type that would have called out the band in question. Blaque is 110% correct in what he has written here. Bands understand how hard it is out here to make a buck so any and all possible help from locals and venues is always a plus. Remember this people, listen to what Mr. Blaque has said and the band you enjoyed seeing will always want to return to your town.

Great post brother

It was very sad indeed to witness what occurred last night. That is disheartening to see happen to local bands let alone friends.

This is where out-of-state bands are in need of a tour manager to verify the contract and what is to be expected and can be reasonably delivered by both the band and venue. I think the lack of communication on both sides is what complicated the situation. Hopefully this will be a learning lesson for both sides in the future events.

In the end the fans are the ones who ultimately pay for what occurred. Either by not seeing a band rebook an event in the same area again or paying an exuberant amount to see that band due to their expected performing cost.

The Mother Of Metal-Psycho Realms/TBMS/Orange Sky

I attended this show and was present for this unfortunate lack of professionalism demonstrated by this band.  When you have a issue with the promotor, venue you should excuse yourself from the public eye and discuss it with the persons directly involved.  This band did not do so in fact they aired their issues in front of fans and persons not directly involved.  In fact one band member verbally refused to allow Joey to leave.  Various members of the two bands were confrontational towards Joey Blaque.
I have worked with many bands thru the years and must say I was totally shocked and disappointed by their actions.
Bourbon Street and Blaque Promotions DO NOT rip off bands and have the upmost respect for them.

Good fucking post.  Unfortunately, the night before that was the same bullshit in lakeland (without the threats of physical altercation of course).  Everyone indeed has lost sight of why we all got into this music thing so long ago, and I personally, nor will Lakeland Metal Scene, ever book another national act again.  Sad.
