Hello Development suite,

I work for a channel 4 music show called Orange Unsigned Act on Channel 4 and 4Music - it is like a nationwide battle of the bands hosted by Alex Zane and it is open to all genres of music and includes singer/songwriters. The winner of the show gets signed to Universal - with £50,000 cash advance, album and single.


I know events like this can sometimes be deemed as too commercial or corporate but that is not the case with us. The show is committed to unearthing proper talent and great live music. That is what this is all about.

25 acts will be chosen by the public vote on our website and another 25 will be hand picked by us the production team and Universal's A+R together. These 50 bands will then go on to the shows which will air on Channel 4 (on T4) and also on the new 4Music channel in a prime-time slot.


I imagine, doing what you do, you will know of a lot of great talent in the area and I'd love to know if you have any suggestions of great local unsigned bands that I should check out.
