Vox Tip of the week/tip on the Jam Vox
This week’s tip is on the new Jam Vox update 1.52 and accessing the new GXT presets.
GXT is the technology that reduces and extracts the guitar, and even other instruments from the mix. These new presets are actually style specific, making it very easy for you to access the reduction and extraction features.
If you have not yet upgraded your Jam Vox to 1.52, you should get a prompt when you plug the Jam Vox via USB into your computer. If this does not happen, you can down load it from http://www.jamvox-online.com/downloads/
1. Once you have 1.52, click on the GXT icon to open up the GXT window.
2. At the bottom left in the GXT window, there is a tab that reads “Easy” or “Expert”. Select “Easy”
3. Now you will have nine selections, for different styles and instruments, including vocals.
4. Once you choose your style and instrument, by clicking on the tab, you can select from the top of the GXT window, “Reduce” or “Extract”.
If these GXT fields aren’t working for the song you are dealing with, then select “Expert” and you can detail edit the GXT feature. You can also access more GXT presets by scrolling with the up & down arrows, in the top right corner, in the GXT window.
