I love our new place! We’ve been here for just over 3 weeks
and it has been a blast. It’s the bottom floor of a very old house. Some parts
of the ceiling are pretty low with weird things sticking out at odd angles. When
we first moved in I hit my head all the time but I’m pretty used to ducking in
those areas now. The bathroom door opened inwards halfway before hitting the
sink so we took it out. Jeff’s mum is going to make a curtain to hang so it’s
not awkward for guests! In first couple weeks I spent a lot of time doing a full scrub down of
the place, since Jeff has been injured, and it has really turned around! The last guy to live here wasn’t the
cleanest...
About a week before moving in here I started my new job. I’m
working for a face-to-face marketing company that specializes in the promotion
of Canadian charities for 3rd world countries. So far it has been a
great experience! I get to work outside and talk to people all day. That is my
job. The weather has been amazing in Vancouver for the last month! It feels great
to know that I’m helping people help people in struggling communities all
around the world.
It’s also kind of sad to see how many Canadians only care
about improving life for Canadians. You’d think that with BC shamelessly
promoting itself as “The Best Place on Earth”, locals would all want to spread
the wealth and take care of the little guys (Oh no I just realized that it’s
POURING rain right now! Looks like I spoke too soon).
Two friends of ours are coming to Vancouver tomorrow and
staying at our place for the weekend so I’ve got to start tidying up before
leaving for work (Hope I don’t drown out there!).
You guys should see Jeff. He has sneezed at least 30 times
today already! One day I’ll catch some footage of him sneezing and videoblog
it!
Talk soon,
Love Alex
