Hey ho people,
So the past 2 gigs went so so well! I couldn't be happier with how they both went really.. The acoustic gig at
Selfridges, was a weird yet wonderful gig.. 3pm on a Saturday, in the middle of a huge department store isn't my usual setup, but i loved every minute of it. The shoppers looked as though they were having fun too..struggling to hold their luminous yellow shopping bags whilst clapping along to one of my tracks called 'no going back'! AMAZING.. Shux kindly stepped in last minute and played the acoustic guitar for me (thankyouuuuxxx) whilst Baby Sol and Ade graced me with their lovely backing vocals.. you can see a clip of the performance on my page'...
A couple weeks later I had my big full band show, headlining at Cargo. I kitted the stage out, with the help of a few people (Jaune Gallais,* kiss kiss*) and if i do say myself it looked HOT! Morrocon cushions, peacock feathers, incense, persian rug...the works! I really wanted to create a vibe visually, aswell as aurally... The gig went down a storm, loads of familiar heads turned up and the band rocked hard.. i even pulled out my new cheeky reggae number...which everyone loved and sang along too! Also a lovely company called
Live Creed came down and filmed everything, soundcheck, backstage and on stage, footage on its way..
Check out the review below from
The Summer Bubblers team at
Cargo..
'South London songstress, Rox, really turned the heads
of those (like myself) in the crowd who were unfamiliar with her work.
Such a powerful voice, she delivered beautiful songs, filled with
passion and sentiment. Ranging from soul to pop to reggae, it was plain
to see that this dynamic performer would be going places in no time at
all. Backed up by keys, bass, guitar, drums and a pair of backing
singers, as a group they really set the place on fire. Not that I had
any preconceptions, I was pleasantly surprised to witness a live
performance with such energy and talent in equal measure - I was very
impressed. Look out for Rox!'Thanks Mr Giles Petereson for inviting me down.

Most importantly a big hug and thanks to you all that made it down to the gigs. It wouldn't mean a thing, if you weren't there.
I also have a gig lined up at Hoxton Bar & kitchen within the next 3 weeks, details TBA. Until then people..
