INSIDE THE RAGE

The brainchild of Neil (guitar) and Uncle (vocals) who had just come to the end of a band called Diavolo, were calling in old bets and favours. First of all recruiting Jay, the drummer who they originally asked into Diavolo. Jay who had already jammed with Neil at school and occasionally over the years, had come to an end with other Keighley favourites, Honeytoad. Fitting the bill perfectly, he was in, and bassist Tom (Dick Fingers), who played in Diavolo before the split. Meanwhile, Uncle, following up on something he wanted to try, suggested a vocal combo, a partner in crime, a two vocalist band. Therefore, after a few nights over a few beers, Uncle and Neil called in Jaxon, an old school friend and vocalist of previous bands, Garden of Remembrance and Spacebat Angel Dragon. It was evident from the first practices, Uncle and Jaxon were a lethal duo and fuckin.. hilarious! Next the guys decided ..We gotta have more guitars to heavy this shit up and add some crazy shit solos!.. Somebody came to Uncle..s mind straight away, another old school friend and guitarist in previous band, Decadence, Slacksville. Again after in depth conversation over Jack Daniels, Budweiser and a trip down to the band room, Slacksville was in and raring to go! Funny thing was, Slacksville and Neil being huge Ozzy fans, had talked of setting something up for ages, but having other band commitments, it kinda fucked the timing up...until now! The band played a few covers, but had always agreed to play their own stuff. So with solid practice and writing sessions, which are as strong now as they ever were, that..s exactly what they do! However, 2004 drawing to a close and Christmas round the corner, BIG PROBLEM! Tom the bass player bows out. No longer turning up to practice and not answering calls, left with no explanation, the band decides to carry on. ..Guess he just took a different path... Just as things seemed like they couldn..t get any worse, they lost the band room at Dalton Mill (the original ..Mathcave..), to developers with big ideas. It would seem The Aftermath were facing a shaky future, but NO CHANCE! Fate had other ideas. Jay..s brother-in-law thankfully saved their asses by providing a room above his garage at Bingley Auto Craft. Hooking up with another friend from another ex Dalton Mill band, Nexus, they then gained a mohawked, tattooed, bass player by the name of Foz. With Foz quickly becoming a solid member of the outfit and with a year of practice under their belts, The Aftermath were back on track. With their debut gig at Bradford Uni..s Colours Bar looming, it was full on. The gig was awesome! Very well received, as was the bands first Keighley gig at the Catholic Club. And what a memorable night that was; the Pope died during the set! Bring forth the Devil!! Last but not least by any means, came their seventh member-well that..s how they regard band manager Boz. Blown away by the Aftermath..s gigs, he booked them for Kate..s thirtieth party, but in true Aftermath style, NO FUCKIN.. TRANSPORT!! So a deal was cut; You lend us your van, we play your gig. It..s pretty much been business as usual ever since. And a massive THANK YOU to you both, Boz and Kate, for the many, many hours you put in for the band. So with gigs building up around West Yorkshire, new residence at Backfeed Studios due to complaints of noise pollution in Bingley (!) and a debut CD recorded in 2005, the band are steam rolling on...and wanting more. It seems unstoppable. The Aftermath: Six guys getting together through the splitting of other bands, creating the inspiration for Bernard, the tribal Phoenix symbolizing a rebirth from the ashes of all that had gone before.
