Now as those of you who take the time to read any of my ramblings (all three of you!) will know I have been recently labouring on the last little pieces of the conclusion of a new poem. This is not that poem either, but rather another little sonnet that seems to have found its way to completion in the meantime! This one is perhaps not quite as spontaneous as the last but still a thing of relative freshness and immediacy. Either way I hopes you will find it suitably expressive.The title I have snaffled from the livejournal name of a good friend of mine but that is but the smallest part of the inspiration for it, merely a happy coincidence, so I hopes she wont mind!
I think though the actual inspiration and subject of the sonnet more or less speaks for itself. In any case I will not yet be going into any detailed explanations of my own views of the metaphors for a wish to keep things open and allow you to read your own interpretations. That any my brain is not really feeling tonight in any condition to be expounding on such details and intricacies with any great deal of coherence! Anywho, here be another little sonnet of mine for you to read, and of course I be more than willing to share in any thoughts it may inspire you to, praises or criticisms! Enjoy.

The Waves
As the waves strive endlessly for the shore,
An ocean deep hunger in heaving sighs
From out my flawed and heavy heart does pour;
Rolls over and over, and breaks, and dies.
Much as they stretch to touch beyond the dune
They are drawn back to open waters,
Bound to wax and wane with the tidal moon;
I am confined to pale, fleeting gestures.
At the line of my very furthest reach -
To lay tender tokens - and then depart,
To but caress the contours of the beach,
Beyond my range to move the deeper heart.
Just like the love of the sea for the land,
Washing up pearls along the golden sand.
