Mr. Collin Raye,

I am a 68 year old woman who lives in a wheel chair with a myriad of health problems.   My dear husband brought me to your concert Monday night with our youngest son and his wife.    I used to live in Branson and saw many performers and enjoyed them so much.    However, your intimate performance touched me so deeply that I just had to write and tell you.     We enjoyed each and every song you sang and just loved what you did with Bridge over Troubled Waters and also the Billy Joel number.

The songs you made famous were all beautiful.  I cried when you sang She's gonna fly and the beautiful song about your grandaughter.   They were all just perfect and cheered me so much.    It must make you feel good to be able to do that to people.  To give them hope and such joy.    I left feeling so positive and happy.

I have always liked your songs but now I am a BIG FAN because I felt your heart and soul last night.    When we got outside I thought I was the only big boob about the music but I could see my daughter in law had cried and she said to me "I would go again tomorrow."     I would too.     We will be watching for you to come again.

By the way, your piano player is just fantastic and I hope you will let her know.    The guitarist was super too.

Well, thank you for taking the time to read this.   I don't usually write fan mail but in this case I felt like I should.

What a beautiful letter in deed, I do not write much fan mail either but I totally agree with her. I saw you many years ago in Houston, Texas. You were not as well known, but already well on your way. You did a show with Trace Adkins and Gary Allen, and you were the last one to perform. Both of them were just starting out and did wonderful shows, but you were the one who really touched me and the whole audience. You are a very talented man who does draw in your audience with the warmth and emotion that comes through in every song you sing. That one show at the Houston Fair and Rodeo made me a true fan of yours forever. I love all of your songs, but my favorite is The Gift you did with Jim Brickman, in fact it is currently my main profile song on MySpace. Keep up all your good work, you are a truly amazing man as well as a truly amazing singer. Continue to be true to yourself, and may God continue to bless you and your family.

What a beautiful letter!  It states what many of us feel about what Collin Raye does with not only his music but his performances.  I, too, feel deeply touched when I go to one of his shows.  He truly connects with his audience AND connects the music with him with his audience.  You feel the emotion and story of every song - it becomes a part of you too.  That is why I, too, will keep coming back to his concerts for more.  I cry every time I hear "She's gonna Fly" (reminds me of my grandmother) and She's With Me (reminds me of my nephew).

Collin, thank you for sharing a this letter and every thing that you do.  It is truly appreciated.  See you in Wheeling, WV soon!

I guess this proves what we all kind of know...music has the power to comfort and heal.  But when you couple amazing music with an amazing heart like Collin's? That's simply a little piece of HEAVEN!  I've seen a Collin concert, too, and what I remember most is the sincerity of heart behind the man singing touching songs.  And that's a beautiful memory...  Collin...you are spectacular in every sense of the word!  Thanks for sharing your talents in such a caring and loving way...

Love & Blessings,

Wendy
