Hey there,
Sorry I've not updated in so long. I've um, well, I've been really busy.
After finishing up recording Ian Gillan's new One Eye To Morocco in July, I moved out to Los Angeles. Well, I didn't really move, I agreed to come out for a few months to do some work, and well, as things go, I'm still here and loving life on the beach. It's doing my spirit well, and my dog loves it just as much.
Last week I put down basic tracks with the inimitable Nick Blagona at the helm for a new record by a Canadian artist called Gino McKoy. Rodney Appleby was on bass, as always, and Jesse O'Brien on keys (also from Gillan's OETM), as well as Owen Dirkin on drums. We recorded at Ocean Sound studio in Burbank, and had a fabulous time. I hope Nick recorded our blues jams between takes. Some great stuff there :). I shall record again with these boys soon, no doubt, and there's a wicked chemistry there.
Since being out here, I was introduced to a fabulous guitar doctor named Andy Brauer, who's put Sheptone pickups into most of my guitars and they're all playing and sounding better than ever.
And thankfully, life goes on. ;).
Hope you're all doing stupendously.
Cheers for now,
Michael
P.S. If you've not picked up One Eye to Morocco yet, buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a great record, and you'll be glad you did.
