well since Billy's giving away the next 44 songs he releases, I'd say this is justified...

Sell out?  Do you know how long its been since SP have been underground?
Mr Flexy muscles has only been ALIVE one year longer than the smashing pumpkins have been in existence.

So, careful not to choke on your own ePenis.

..i will always love and support SP's music. i just wish Billy would lighten up some if he's gonna involve them with things like this. which, by the way, i personally am indifferent about. ..

All the cool bands are doing it, why not the Pumpkins? You people need to chill out. Billy's just embracing a new medium for which to reach out to the fans. I'm sure I'm not alone in loving the Smashing Pumpkins and being a gamer too.

LOL I knew "sell out" comments would happen.  Why not put your music out there for others to enjoy?  Why not reach out to a new medium?  Maybe someone who already has this tapping app on their iPhone will play Cherub Rock and go, "hey cool song, maybe I'll give some of their music a try."  And next thing you know they're a Pumpkins fan!  I like how some people don't want Billy to share his music in different ways.  Sorry Billy, your music can't be on a commercial.  Sorry Billy but you can't Twitter about your religion.  Sorry Billy your songs can't be on a Guitar Hero game.  Sorry Billy you can't have your face on a poster.  What does constitute as selling out anyways?  If I say I prefer Pepsi over Coca Cola, am I selling out to them?  If Billy were to be seen walking around in public with a GAP sweater or Old Navy t-shirt I bet the same people would say he has sold out again!!  And, think of all the different bands on those Rock Band/Guitar Hero games.  Wow, I would hate to think that Tom and Tripper now have to write "Sell out" on the myspace pages for Rolling Stones, White Stripes, The Beatles, Metallica, Silversun Pickups, Iggy Pop, Kings of Leon, The Ramones, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, AC/DC, Nine Inch Nails, and Radiohead to name a few.  Well, if you're going to attack the Pumpkins then you better get started attacking all of those other bands I just listed and the 100 I didn't list.

Im not against the idea of bands in games i just find it odd that the highest thing you can achieve today as an artist is advertising when really those two shouldnt go together for an artist and i cant complain much cause the new album will be free i feel like with the way songs like glow and fol have been released im losing faith in this band. i know ill be flamed for it but its my opinion. also when i listen to bill hicks talk about 80s sell outs i now think of the pumpkins. i want to like them but its getting hard

I will agree with 1 comment, I loved both GLOW and FOL and would have loved an actual CD release or even an album.  With Owata, Song for a Son, 99 Floors, and Rome Burns there was enough viable material for an actual CD release.

..I'm an old school fan of the Mighty SP and while I don't have any interest in these "apps",  I can't blame the bands or Billy for using new technology to help market their music.   Billy is no longer a slave to the record company slobs and therefore he must find new and dare I say "alternative" ways to promote his music and band.  RawK On Cowboy Bill, I'm listening...

Totally agree with the comments.  Another big change too has been the fact that CDs, records, etc. do not make money anymore.  Everyone downloads things for free now so the bands are forced to do things like this to make sure everything isn't "stolen" from them.  So now bands are starting to release music for free but making this music takes time and money.  If they sell it back for free how can they make a buck/living to keep on making music?  Would we rather Billy whores himself out like Britney or Beyonce, or uses technology to earn a living?  And it's because of us, the music fans downloading music illegally that has led to this!!!!

Already addicted!..Oh and seriously you guys, you think this is selling out? Get a life- you pick up a guitar, form a band then see if you're happy to be featured in a cool game- I bet you'd piss yourself with excitement, only presumably at the fact your shite band is known enough to be asked. Easy enough to judge a band that's nice enough to give us free music when you're not making music yourself when you're a wanker. ..

I don't think you guys have ever heard the song "Hooker with a Penis" by Tool.  If you haven't and you're thinking SP has sold out, you should go listen to that song and insert yourself when he's saying "buddy."  He's talking to you.  Thank you.
