Hi All...
This is a story of a man named Allen Camp, who out of the kindness of his heart, and through hard work and promotion, has created a special niche for local bands to come out and play. Allen is lead singer and guitarist for San Diego rock band Fuzz Huzzi, currently recording a CD for King's Ransom Records. He saw a need in the area for more venues for local original acts to perform in, especially places geared toward good quality stage sound.
Every Wednesday night, for the paltry sum of five dollars, the doors are opened to the San Diego music fan on a whole host of styles and genres at the Second Wind bar on Navajo Rd. The discerning fan gets a taste of three or sometimes even more musical acts, including solo artists, duos, and full bands, with San Diego's own Fuzz Huzzi closing the night with their powerful driving sound and heated emotional stage show.
They have given many artists( including Reverend Stickman, opening every Wed.) an opportunity to perform in a club with a fantastic PA system, including all JBL mains and subs, with a very quick, friendly and knowledgable sound engineer in-house to tweak all the knobs. Add to that the nice lighting system and elevated stage, and some sweet drink specials, hey every band sounds better.
I would like to say thanks to Allen, Adam, Chuck, Louis, and Phil for making me feel at home, and for lighting the way to one hell of a rock and roll show. All music lovers should come out to the Second Wind bar some Wednesday night before it's too late. Believe me, when Fuzz Huzzi hits the road, it may be awhile before we can see them again. They'll be nationwide in no time. Catch them now and support your local music scene at the same time.
And people... stop being so cheap! It's only five bucks at the door, so stop trying to make your friends get you in for free. Support the scene, don't just glom off of it! You'll feel better, and the artists will feel like you care. Artists need that kind of thing to keep on doing their thing.
