This morning a new poll was released that drove the point home that John Edwards is the only Democrat that can win in November. In every match-up with a Republican candidate John Edwards wins. He's the only Democratic candidate that wins in every single match-up. It's that simple.

40% Giuliani
49% Edwards

41% Fred Thompson
47% Edwards

32% Romney
53% Edwards

46% Romney
40% Obama

54% Giuliani
33% Obama

55% Fred Thompson
35% Obama

44% Romney
47% Clinton

50% Fred Thompson
44% Clinton

47% Giuliani
44% Clinton

The fact is; if we want to win in November John Edwards needs to be the nominee. The only way John will be the Democratic nominee is if supporters like you help spread the word on and offline.

that's cool... and I'm not surprised - I hope John Edwards is the next President

Conveniently, that poll neglected to match the Democrats up with the only REAL Republican in the race: RON PAUL!

I believe that although we have other good candidates, none of the others but John Edwards can actually win the election against the Republican nominees. History has shown for a candidate to win the election, he/she has to be able to carry conservative moderates and the South. John is the only candidate that has a chance at doing this. The Republican party would love to see Hillary or Obama elected as the democratic nominee for President, because they know they can't be elected.

I know, as do all of his supporters, that John is the only Dem candidate that can beat all the Rep candidates. But I can't take this new poll to the bank (ie: the watercooler) unless I know who funded it and who carried it out. I would love to use this as ammo in the fight to get out the word about the Edwards campaign, but I just can't without any supporting references. I'll just have to continue to use the information it contains in an anecdotal sense.

I agree, but something more needs to still be done by John. Obama, Clinton, and the rest of the Senators running for President have all done one thing which is paramount to keeping the war going. They voted for the Cloture vote. This allows Republicans to vow to filibuster without actually backing it up. If they really believe in ending this war, it would take just one of them resending their cloture vote.

By doing this, the Republicans would have to actually filibuster the withdrawl timetables. Do you really think that they will stand with Bush if it requires them to continue a filibuster?

I don't.

While making calls today from the local John Edwards for President campaign office, there wasn't ONE Democrat who had a bad word to say about Edwards...he is held in the utmost respect and will also certainly get many votes from fed-up Republicans who are tired of being ashamed of how our President and cronies are acting.

Obama has beat Romney badly in every poll ever done with the two of them. I don't believe these for a second.

The Republicans resort to fear, humanity's most primal instinct, to win elections. Period. When their "Swift Boat" attacks come against the Democrat nominee, and they WILL come, John Edwards will be able to not only deflect them, but expose the Republicans for the farce of a party that they are. He was a highly successful trial lawyer, for goodness sakes, doing daily battle in a vicious environment. There are other fine Democrat candidates in the field, but John is the best one to fight the below-the-belt (inside the Beltway) Republican attack machine.

This is the truth, many people feel this way; But for this to happen we have to show up and vote in the up and comming Primaries/Caucuses. Lets get this done! It is very close and every vote will count.

Lets see Edwards for president and Biden for vice. This would be a great match of two people who are strong in all the major areas that the people in the united states care about right now: Health care, middle/lower class, environment, terrorism & foriegn policy great match!

Want to hear my theory? It shouts conspiracy. The media, which 90% of is owned by large corporations, is pushing Obama and Clinton. They don't want John to become a popular candidate. I think that they believe a woman or an African-American man won't do well in the polls when it comes down to election day. They are counting on the people out there that base their political decisions on what they hear in line at Wal-Mart. Sad, but true. These are the people they hope to hit before John Edwards does. These people reak of fear when John does well in the debates.

It's who can do the job and who can win. John shows the most passion of ANY candidate I've seen since Bill.

John Edwards is the ONLY candidate in my opinion that can win.

i agree Jen. Might have something to do with John taking on concentrated corporate power, whereas the others say nothing about it. The media is owned by the largest corporations: GE/NBC, DisneyABC, ViacomCBS and of course, MurdochFox...much different than when the networks were independent and reporters made a middle-class living instead of stratospheric salaries,
