Current mood:  accomplished

So Adam and I did sound yet again tonight. And it was a real treat, I have to say. After Adam sharing his experience from last weekend with me, I wasn't sure what to expect. Adam wasn't felling his best for part of the show, so this time he ran lights while I drove the board for the night.

Tonight, I'll go ahead and tell you the bands. They were a group called Evenmark, and the headliner was called Core Factor. Both bands put on a hell of a show, with good musicianship and really good vocals happening. Evenmark was kind of cool for Adam and me as guitar players, because their lead guitarist was not too bad. Definitely had an interesting style that lent itself well to the arrangement of the tunes.

Core Factor had it going on though. They were running sequences for some of their material (something I'm not unfamiliar with myself), and it all sounded great. The guitarist, who was mostly rhythm-oriented, had some great tone happening to augment his mean-ass chops. The bass was pretty well in the pocket, the vocals were pretty outstanding too... but again, the drums were something to behold. We were able to get the drums pretty well thundering in the room. The whole arrangement kicked ass. I mean, it's been a long, long time since I mixed for a band who sounded this good on the small- to medium-sized stage. Pretty muh-f*ckin tight if you were to ask me.

Had a really good time tonight. The talent was a great big help toward that end. Hats off to you guys!
