I've got good news! Make that fantastic news!!! Beyond my wildest hopes, in fact. My political thriller, The Identity Factor, received its fourth finalist award in Los Angeles at the 2008 Best Books Awards, sponsored by USABookNews.com. I was pretty excited, and would have done cartwheels if I didn't think it would land me in the hospital. So we settled for a major homemade pizza-fest with friends (along with a few mango margaritas to wash everything down). Here is the link to the press release: www.prlog.org/10131456.

Some of you also know the book is being adapted for film. I have been collaborating with Los Angeles film producer Kristin Overn (Americanizing Shelley), who sees its potential as a Jason Bourne meets The DaVinci Code meets Indiana Jones kind-of film, drawing on the mystique and cinematic majesty of Egypt infused with the riddle of an ancient artifact, set against the Mach III pace of Jason Bourne. 'Ludlumesque,' in the words of The Dallas Morning News, as a charming Texas journalist seeks to identify and stop the notorious terrorist Abu Nazer.

I look forward to seeing you at the movies!

I think Melissa is a good choice, but only if she goes back to her dark-hair look! ;o)

Keep us updated on all the film news, and we'll be first in the queue (which will no doubt stretch around the block) to see the film.

Cheers,

As always, Padna, congrats on the success of your books. I have only one complaint; I thought Zoe was real. What's with getting someone to play her? Oh well, I suppose she is just undercover right now. Sure, get someone to "play her part.
" I'll never tell her secret!
For real, though, congrats and good luck casting the best girl blackbelt I know.

Hugs,
~M

But I will sure post this on to all of my friends that do not get by my My Space profile all the time and encourage them to repost.

I finished reading the Identy Factor and the First Thirteen and both are great books am looking forward to seeing them up on the screen.

Much love and peace,
Lady xo
