I've got good news! Make that fantastic news!!! Beyond my wildest hopes, in fact. My political thriller, The Identity Factor, received its fourth finalist award in Los Angeles at the 2008 Best Books Awards, sponsored by USABookNews.com. I was pretty excited, and would have done cartwheels if I didn't think it would land me in the hospital. So we settled for a major homemade pizza-fest with friends (along with a few mango margaritas to wash everything down). Here is the link to the press release: www.prlog.org/10131456.
Some of you also know the book is being adapted for film. I have been collaborating with Los Angeles film producer Kristin Overn (Americanizing Shelley), who sees its potential as a Jason Bourne meets The DaVinci Code meets Indiana Jones kind-of film, drawing on the mystique and cinematic majesty of Egypt infused with the riddle of an ancient artifact, set against the Mach III pace of Jason Bourne. 'Ludlumesque,' in the words of The Dallas Morning News, as a charming Texas journalist seeks to identify and stop the notorious terrorist Abu Nazer.
