Hello, The Beerbug here with the latest news from the Chicken Katsu Records
Universe. So how did the 14th Annual Chicken Katsu Records Party turn out?
Well... it was a blast! A good time indeed, a lot of old friends (including Slay "the dick dancer"), a lot of new friends (some who were expecting something else but hahahahaha - see *** below), and some who have even been influenced to pick up an instrument and try and make some racket of their own. If you're in the Okinawa City area stop by Oto Bora, man has Kazu (UCHU NEKO) put together a nice place!... then after that head up Park Avenue and have some pints at Paddy Macs and let Martin know what a fuckin' wanker he is. We had the ol' afer party over at Paddy Macs and Martin had the Irish Car Bombs flowing left and right... and well just like how all the Annual Parties seem to end, there was some chaos but not really from the regular band member delinquents like Tooru SELFISH GENE or Weldon MUNCHKINS or Tim SODA POP JERK or Yopparai Bill or Louie MUNCHKINS... well Louie... hmmm kind of... but anyways the monster of the night was some arm wrestling guy that Louie knew... Oh well, I was up at the counter knockin' back Car Bombs and Bass Pale Ale with Shinobu and Weldon MUNCHKINS and Yutaka SELFISH GENE (who Martin kept referring to as "Hey Miyako" note: Yutaka's family is originally from Miyako Island but he's never lived there) so I don't really know all the details.

(from above)*** - Tooru from SELFISH GENE sold 4 tickets to these girls from mainland, he also strongly hinted that the special guest could be one of the cocksuckers from Orange Range. Then he explained that even though they're quite younger than him, that they went to Yamauchi Junior High and that's where he went to school and they know him and blah blah blah who fuckin' cares. So the girls came to the show looking for a Yamashiro-san... Tooru was dressed up looking like Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi and trying to get everybody to call him Dragon. Too bad for Satoshi - the bass player of HI-CHEESE since his last name is Yamashiro as well hahaha... anyways later on they recognized Tooru and they had a young fellow (looked like he was auditioning for Johnnys or some shit) with them who was really getting into the bands so they tagged along and came out to Paddy Macs. There they got to feast on some delicious fish & chips and I think they had a couple of rounds of Car Bombs as well so it all ended on the upside for everyone. ***
Halloween Party
Don't know all the details yet but it sounds like MUNCHKINS IN THE CAN and some other Chicken Katsu Records bands (probably SELFISH GENE & HI-CHEESE) will be playing at Paddy Macs Halloween Party. Sounds like they're trying to figure out if they want to do it on Halloween Day which unfortunately is a Wednesady or the following weekend. I'll let you know when they let me know.
HI-CHEESE
I've gotta say that HI-CHEESE is the shit! and I don't like cheese, only pizza and it can only be mozzarella but this band from Okinawa is a good thing for me and very inspiring. See most of the bands that I hear over here do not impress me at all, for the most part they fall into 5 categories 1. rap metal bullshit 2. stale, heard that song a thousand times pop punk 3. this is the worst! this shit they
call champloo music - the music is like poppy fake reggae mixed with folk and what not and the singer does that kind of rap singing shit like 311 and the lyrics, oh fuck, I'm about to have an aneurysm just thinking about it 4. acoustic folk or whatever - with stupid slogans like "no music no life" kind of bullshit and nowadays everybody has the sanshin (shamisen) mixed in and supposed to be so uchinanchu (Okinawan) though there sucking mainland big business corporate cock 5. last but not least "drumroll" cock rock! now these guys will never give in hahaha... unbelievable in this day and age to be talking to someone who is serious when he's talking about White Snake, Scorpions, Warrant and all that shit, it leaves that damn "Now you're messing with a son of a bitch" song running in my head. But HI-CHEESE don't mess with any of that shit and they don't seem to fuckin' care, they got their songs and they wanna have a few brews and they love THE BLUE HEARTS and they really go wild when the other Chicken Katsu Records bands are performing, they love getting crazy, and they just fuckin' kick ass, a great band! Super glad they're on the Chicken Katsu Records roster.
MUNCHKINS IN THE CAN
THE MUNCHKINS are busy sorting out songs for an upcoming CDEP, this will be the band's 2nd CDEP and it will be a split release between Chicken Katsu Records and SP Productions. As of now it looks like it will be six songs: 1. Gallivant 2. I Wish 3. Sensual, Sexual, Sadistic, and Miserable 4. Screen Play 5. Bottled Water 6. 17 Years
