-They need to get Will Ferrell and Jack Black to host the Oscars. Their little sing and dance numbers together are always hilarious! And with John C. Reilly, it's even better. LOL, "we're going to FIGHT the nominees!" "Mark Wahlberg, I'm not going to take on you! I think you're a great actor." LMAO.
-While we're at it, let's have James McAvoy come back next year as well and read all the nominees' names. I lurve his accent!
-Alan Arkin won Best Supporting Actor! I was totally expecting Eddie Murphy to win, thus making for yet (another) predictable Oscars. I must say I am pleasantly surprised. Though I'm not entirely shocked. I knew there was the possibility that Arkin could upset him.
-Eh, Happy Feet won best animated film. While there wasn't one movie I was rooting for, this one was my least favorite. (Totally hated how the film turned into an enviromental awareness special at the end). However, I did like the how the animated characters from Cars and Monster House looked disappointed. LOL, cute touch.
-Very fitting that Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt presented Best Costume Design. LOL, loved Meryl Streep's deadpan face when the girls were acting scared of her. Haven't seen Marie Antionette, but it certainly is deserving of the award. Very stunning costumes.
-During the foreign film montage, I counted how many of the films I had seen: five.(Mr. Critic would be so disappointed!)
-Wow, I was expecting Pan's Labryinth to win Best Foreign Film. I know a lot of people (on Oscar forums) who are going to be pissed that it didn't win. The German film, The Lives of Others won instead.
-I gotta admit, I was kind of hoping that Jennifer Hudson wouldn't win just because we would never hear the end of it from American Idol how THEY discovered an Oscar-winner, which is why I LOVE that she forgot (or did she? heh) to thank AI in her speech. Hehehehe, I was totally snickering over that!
-Okay, so along with James McAvoy, let's have Gael Garcia Bernal help him announce all the nominees' names next year as well. Lurve his accent!
-Excellent - Little Miss Sunshine won Best Original Screenplay.
-Whoa, Dreamgirls had three songs up for Best Song and it went to Melissa Ethridge for her song in An Inconvientent Truth. The Al Gore ass-kissing is getting really old!
-Philip Seymour Hoffman looked really bad. However, Helen Mirren looked stunning. Was there any doubt she would win the Oscar? She's such a classy woman; I wish she were my grandma!
-Sooooo glad Forest Whitaker won! I was seriously worried they might give it to Peter O'Toole. And aww, I loved how Leo DiCaprio, Will Smith, and Ryan Gosling gave Forest standing ovations.
-Hehehe, loved seeing Steven Speilberg, George Lucas, and Francis Ford Coppola presenting Best Director. I knew Marty Scorsese had it in the bag when they came out. LOL loved when George Lucas said he's never won an Oscar and that giving is better than receving and both Coppola and Speilberg said, "No, it's not!" Aww, Marty got a standing ovation. I mean, it's about damn time he won an Oscar!
-And the Oscar for Best Picture goes to...The Departed! This makes me extremely happy, as I was sure it was going to the pretentious Babel. So, yay!
