Hello!!Your
friendly neighborhood Mr. Producer Guy here to give you the latest news
on ROCKY and REPO in Arizona! Hopefully this will answer all your
frequently asked questions...if not email back!
I'll just make this easy and number these points, below!
1. HALLOWEEN ROCKYYes,
we ARE doing shows on Halloween weekend--FOUR of them! 2 on Friday
October 30th (8pm and 11pm), a very late MIDNIGHT show on Halloween
night, and an early "Encore" show on Sunday November 1st (around 7pm).
Advance tickets for all four shows will be available THIS WEEKEND
through the MADCAP website, and I'll send out the presale links as well
as lots of other details as soon as I have them! (And for those who
ask, the Halloween ticket prices will be slightly higher because (a)
it's a major event and (b) licensing for ROCKY in October as well as
theatre rental is MUCH higher than any other time of year.)
1a.
For those of you outside the Phoenix area, TUCSON and FLAGSTAFF will
also be doing shows on Halloween weekend, and that info will be
included in the same email as above. In addition, starting TONIGHT
(Friday 10/16/09), The Prescott Independent Theatre (http://www.myspace.com/..pitheater)
is doing a live production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, the original stage
play that the movie was based on. Check it out if you can!
2. REPO! THE GENETIC OPERAREPO!
THE GENETIC OPERA's next live performance will be on Friday, November
13th at 8pm at MADCAP. This will be the LAST REPO OF 2009! It will be
part of another ROCKY/REPO double feature and part of the overall event
BLACK FRIDAY THE 13TH, sponsored by AZRocky/Come As You Are, MADCAP/The
Midnite Movie Mamacita, and Trash City Productions. (The overall theme
of ROCKY that night, btw, will be ZOMBIES vs. SERIAL KILLERS!) Also,
that night will begin our HOLIDAY CHARITY DRIVE--more on that soon!
3. WE NEED NEW BLOOD!ROCKY
and REPO always need new castmembers--not just performers but techies,
costuming, web help, promotional help, and more. Some of you have
already contacted us or turned in applications about this. We will be
hosting a NEW CAST ORIENTATION sometime in the next 2 weeks. If you are
interested in helping--PLEASE email back for the time, date and
location!
4. HELP SPREAD THE WORD!We
need for all of our Halloween shows to sell out! If you are willing to
help flyer all over the Valley, please let us know! And please spread
our online emails, bulletins, blasts and event invites far and wide, to
all the friends you can--so the entire Valley can do the Time Warp
again!
