I met Paul, I talked to Gene on the phone.

When I met Paul, I was going to a concert in Toronto.  It was the Psycho Circus tour.  I bought a ticket and a "all access pass".  I assumed the pass to be b.s but I figured hey, it's a keepsake at least!
I went to the side door and showed the security guard my pass and surprising to me, he let me in!
I was backstage, walking through the hallways of where KISS comes through from their dressing rooms to the stage.  sadly their were A LOT of security sitting in that hallway to the room(s)
I went into the arena itself and there was a local news station doing some corny but cool spot of a news anchor dressing up and acting like Gene, only to get thrown out, it was entertaining to watch.
after that i went down to the front row seating and sat down and watched KISS' techs play around on Paul's lift that he rode on during "Lovegun".
as i'm staring up at the tech i hear "no no, thats not high enough" in Paul's voice
my head jerked so fast i probably gave myself whiplash.
i look over onto the stage and sure enough it's PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!
he's dressed down in a green jacket, jeans, his hair pulled back and a baseball cap on.  he notices me, jumps off of the stage and says hey, who are you?? come over here!
just as my heart reaches my throat i walk over and i assume...OK this is where i get thrown out. Paul puts out his hand and says hello there, im paul stanley!!
I shake his hand, he asks me my name and like a idiot, all i could say is "i forgot"
paul was very sweet and he smelled amazing!!

as far as Gene,  he was doing a radio show on EddieTrunk. (eddietrunk.com)
and i managed to not only get through but i got ON THE AIR WITH GENE!!!
I was never more nervous in my life.   Gene's best quote to me (from our conversation was)  "Too bad this is radio, otherwise i'd have my way with you over the phone"

I also once got 2 roses handed to me from Peter, All I have to say is I love KISS!!!!!!!!!

....

I have met all of the members of KISS over the years,  Like a lot of you, I'm sure,  I have a bunch of autographs, pictures, etc etc from the concerts, expos, etc etc....but this is probably one of the most unique stories that I have....not so much a "meeting"....but a "moment".....

JULY 30, 1992 - Ace is playing the Chestnut Cabaret in Philly.  They are roaring through classic KISS and Ace solo stuff...Rocket Ride, Lost in Limbo, New York Groove, Rock Soldiers...all great stuff.  Near the end of the show they go from Rip It Out right into Detroit Rock City and I decide that this would be the EXACT right moment for me to join Ace on stage! HAHAHAHAHA right after the chours, I manage to climb up onto the stage and belt out GETTING LATE  I JUST CAN'T WAIT TEN O'CLOCK AND I KNOW I GOTTA HIT THE ROAD and Ace has this funny smile on his face like "look at this crazy goofball" and I can see my friends in the front going nuts ...and then YOINK...I am grabbed in a bear hug from behind by a roadie who hauls me to the side of the stage and flings me off.  At that moment I'm thinking HOLY SHIT I just sang with Ace Frehley and now I hope I don't break something on the way to the floor HAHAHA One of my friends was in the back of the club and he said "it was so weird...I look up and there you are singing with Ace!!! So if any of you were at that show...that goofball that jumped on the stage during Detroit Rock City was me......Rock On!

Yes I have met KISS

I met them at ACE FREHLEYS birthday party back in 96 at a bowling alley in Los Angles. IT WAS UNREAL!!! My brother inlaw tipped me off about the KISS party. See, he works at Interscope Records, and some of the Interscope folks got invited, and he was one of them.

They were all cool . ACE was the coolest of course , I met him walking out of the bathroom. KISS had an open beer tab at the bar, so it was all free for guests, along with the bowling of course. So I'm in the bathroom taking a leak and who do ya think is taking a leak next to me? ACE!!! My heart dropped and then I froze. I followed him out and I called his name. He stopped and I said ''Ace, I have been a fan all my life and your the coolest'' or something dumb like that. He invited me over to lane that KISS were bowling at. I waited till I had a few more beers in me to walk over . GENE was really super nice. He walked over, working the room, and struck up a conversation with me and my friends. ERIC SINGER and BRUCE KULICK were also there. TOMMY THAYER  as well come to think of it. I remember spotting all of them when we gathered around the cake to sing ''Happy Birthday to ACE.''

I have it all on video. PAUL is an amazing bowler. I couldn't believe that PAUL STANLEY was bowling in the lane next to mine, with one strike after another. I took off with the KISS bowling score sheet, but not before I walked over to their lane and got my 77-78' tourbook , that I just happened to have with me, signed by all four of them.( My most prized KISS item , and the one I love the most. In excellent shape I might add)

I also had a camara with me. When GENE walked over to our lane, I asked if  I could have my picture taken with him and he said , in his very calm and cool voice  ''No pictures. We wanna keep it like the old days . No pictures without the make up.'' My heart dropped again. I said ''I understand'' . then he shook my hand and offered me a piece of ACES birthday cake .It was chocolate. The cake had air brushed art work of  two naked chicks holding up a deck of cards with the ace card in the center .

GENE was bowling in his cowboy boots. The others all had bowling shoes. KISS in bowling shoes. That was a cool sight. Everybody was in high spirits. It was great hearing PETER shout ''YEAH!!!'' in his cool rock n roll voice everytime he hit a strike.

It might have been ACES birthday, but I thought I had died and gone to KISS heaven.

I should get the video transferd to dvd soon.

Thanks for letting me share.

Rock on brother!!!

P.W.

July 23, 1995.  It was amazing!  I went to Cleveland to my first KISS Konvention.  The tickets were $100 each (big cheese for tickets then) and it was limited to 1000 fans.  Our tickets were laminates, so it looked like everyone had a backstage pass.  The 12 hour event was scheduled in roughly 2 hour blocks.  Each block contained an awesome event.  When we got there, I knew that I was going to get to stand in line and actually get their autographs since there was an autograph session.  In my mind I was thinking "OMG, I get to stand across the table from Paul (and others) and maybe even get a hug or handshake".  I always wanted him to sign me somewhere and have it tattooed.  I was excited!!!!

So we enter the hotel (where the convention was held) and an entire floor belonged to us, the KISS Army!  The hallways were lined with tables selling and displaying KISS stuff (nope, no demon boogers on display).  People were just kind of walking around like they were at a comic book convention.  I, on the other hand, was jumping up and down, yelling from time to time and just being estatic- I WAS GOING TO MEET KISS and get an autograph sometime today!

Now comes the kicker.  We watched Bruce give his guitar clinic on the stage.  The biggest room is where the stage was and everyone was sitting on the carpet waiting for the events to come.  I'll admit, I didn't watch the whole clinic because I don't play guitar.  He was actually teaching some basics and some tricks and stuff I wouldn't be interested in.  My friend and I walked back out into the halls and other rooms to look around some more.  It was then that it happened.  The stage managers for the band approached us.  They told us they needed some "hot chics" to paint their faces and hang out with the band.  I looked at them as if "yeah right".  They were serious.  They really took us up to their suites, painted our faces (of course I was Paul), she wore Ace paint and this other chic there (I didn't know her) wore Gene paint.  We then made our way back downstairs and this time entered from backstage.  They were just finishing the wedding onstage where Paul was the best man and Gene gave the bride away.  (we totally missed Eric's drum clinic while getting painted).  When the wedding was over and "Forever" started playing in the room - my dream came true!

Paul and Gene exited the stage - I was standing there waiting for them.  They both walked straight to me.  I'm sure out of the three of us I looked the most anxious.  My friend was not a KISS fan, only there for me and the other chic acted almost snooty.  Paul was smiling, looking right into my eyes, Gene (imagine that) was staring at my tits and said his famous "how are they? I mean, how are you?".  I just laughed but kept my focus on THEE MR. STANLEY!  He put his arms out for a hug and it was then that my entire existence was solidified.  When he hugged me, he picked me up off of the ground and held on real tight.  All I could say was "OMG, OMG, OMG".  Once he sat me back down on the ground my legs were mush.  I had sex legs!!!!  Funny how a hug can do that when the hug is from Paul!!!  After that I was pretty calm, cool, collective all day.  We hung out with the band for the rest of the convention.  We held the microphones for them as we walked around the audience during the question and answer session.  It was hard to be out in the crowd with them onstage and look at people raising their hand for me to pick them next.  I couldn't look anyone in the eye.  Everyone looked equally desperate to be picked to ask KISS a question.  I kept picturing myself sitting there and dying to get picked next.

After the Q&A was the all accoustic, all request set.  Good stuff.  Some songs that hadn't played in 20 years so they would forget, stop, laugh, try again.  They were such "real people" that day.  It was phenominal!  They autograph session was after that.  At some point in the day I had Paul sign my right shoulder and yes, it was tattooed immediately when I left there.  There were lots of interactions that took place that day that are very memorable, but if I get started on each conversation or event this will be 7 pages long.

The point is, it was the most amazing, longed for day of my life.  It was something I dreamed about ever since I was 6 or 7 years old.  Dreams do come true!  I have a blog on my page about the day, hoping that someone out there has video of this convention.  There were tons of cameras there since they allowed them to bring them.  Alot of people had tripods set up.  So, if you read this and you know about a tape to this place and date existing, please, "let me know......."

LONG LIVE THE LEGENDS-KISS

I met Bruce Kulick at a KISS convention. He was cool. Ace waved at me after I shouted at him from across a parking lot near a club he was playing in the late 80s. Would love to meet Gene & Paul.

Ahhhhhhh, October 2006 was something special. I cannot believe it has been a year already since I met big brother Gene and actually had a dialogue with my man, Paul. Wow...KISStober was magical, indeed. It all started when my best Amigo and KISS Konfidant sent me this email about Gene coming to the Oxford Valley Mall, MY FREAKING MALL, like right down the street, to promote the new KISS fragrances. I HAD to be there. Hel-lo? Gene is going to be the one to give me away when I marry Paul. I practiced for weeks what I was going to say, what i was going to wear...and of course, that all went out the window when reality hit and I was escorted on stage to meet Gene. He was an angel, just the best big brother. When he hugs you, he HUGS you!!!! It was awesome! He must have noticed that I was white as a LOVE GUN Chick and shaking and stammering, because he just grabbed me and gave me the bestest, biggest bear hug, wow...what a way to kick off KISStober...and the ending was even MORE magical, swooooon. Big happy, dreamy, starchild swoon...sigh...I got to introduce MY song, my favorite song since the sixth grade, to everyone at the House of Blues. When Paul got to "Tonight you Belong to Me" during his solo tour in AC (Again, thanks to my 1 Amigo I had a copy of the set list, of course) I just about lost it. He slows down and says "I've been waiting sixteen years to play THIS song..." and I lost it, in a good way, for real. I screamed "MEEEE TOOOO!!!!!" From right down in front of him in the pit. He kinda smiled, stops and asks me real slow and sexy, "You too? What am I gonna play?" And I did it, i intro'd "Tonight You belong to me" right then and there. And he smiled and started strumming...and gave a sexy "Yeahhhhhh" to confirm my shrilly outburst. It was awesome, the stuff dreams are made of. "In a dream, a long time ago-o-o".

Let me tell you when I met Gene,
I have been his fan since 1976, I was just a high school girl in Japan. I decided to study English even harder after I became KISS fan because I wanted to communicate with Gene if I ever meet him in person and it happened!!!!

I found out that he had a speech for the Small Business Conference on January 9, 2008 at the Ala Moana Hotel. I really didn't know that he was in town.... what a disappointment it was when I found out!

While reading related articles online, I managed to find out where they were staying and decided to have brunch at the hotel on Sunday, Jan 13 and I was hoping to see him while I was at the hotel.

I arrived about 1.5hour early for my reservation but I did not care... I just wanted to breath the same air Gene was breathing. Then I saw Shannon Tweed's sister Tracy and asked her if the rest of them were coming down. She told me that they were already gone out to for the shooting and won't be back until the evening.

I thought of what to do next...but since I've come this far, I decided to stick around until his return. I had nice brunch at the hotel and then my phone rang around 12:30pm. It was my co worker from work. He said "I heard they are at the Aloha Tower". I got into my car and rushed to the Aloha Tower. And this is where I met my hero.

I made it in time for the shooting his tv program. After the shooting by the Badass Coffee shop, he went inside and that's when I approached him and got his autograph's..... on his book, a ticket stub from a concert in Japan of 1977 and my picture with Gene's makeup from last Halloween. I was so happy and acting like a teenager..... and he asked me " When was this?" pointing the picture of me wearing his makeup and I said "Last Halloween" Gene "ummm" I hope he liked it. Then I had my picture taken with him but that picture did not come out good, in a mean time he had to change his shirt because he spilled his coffee (just a little) so he left but I was hoping to get another chance for taking a picure with him. He came out and asked me if everything was all right and I said "no, first picture didn't come out good" then he said "Let's try again!" I thought he was super nice. His camera crews were telling him that he must go so he started walking and telling my bf "Let us know when you are ready for picture" then my bf said "ready" so both of us turned around and pose for the picture. This one is in my album you can look at it....
I was walking by him from the coffee shop to the front of Aloha tower, we chatted while we were walking. There was nobody following him except ME.
He gave me a big bear hug before entering his car....

Okay. So......
It's like ten or fifteen years ago. I'm living in Los Angeles at the time and living with a friend in LaBrea. She and I used to like to see movies in the Beverly Mall Cine. It's just a regular, old sunday and we're standing in line to get tickets to some piece of crap movie. In front of us is Gene and his family. Next in line. I was out there playing music, so I wanted to be all cool and wasn't going to say anything. I whisper in my friends ear, "hey, that's Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed."

I had no idea what could happen next.

My friend screams at the top of her lungs, "GENE SIMMONS!!!" Now, I'm not a guy who gets embarrassed, really. ...but I was mortified. I try and look away. My friend just keeps freaking out. After two years of living together, she never told me she got star struck AND she was a wicked huge Kiss fan as a kid. She can't get it together and runs to the rest room. I'm still in line, being a kid and still quite bummed out, I look at Gene and shrug. "Women...", I say. Shannon looks like I just took a crap at their feet. Gene just laughs and moves toward me, probably to shake my hand or make fun of me. Both would've been cool with me. I thumb over my shoulder and say, "I guess I should see what all that's about."
...and left.

Of course meeting Ace really stands out to me, back in '93. I gave him a Chainsaw Jane tape and t-shirt. Which was a big deal to me at the time, giving a tape to one of my musical heroes. Then to find a video of him wearing the t-shirt at a concert was a cool bonus.

Probably just a cool t-shirt to him--a big deal to me.

I've worn a ton of Ace/Kiss t-shirts-hahahaha.
