Who Gives Kudos:

Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Well, it's been a little while since I've posted anything. Been very busy working on some music for a music library company in Germany. Hopefully some of it will get placed in a film or tv show. It becomes a crap shoot after it leaves my hands unfortunately, but I enjoyed doing it.

My girl had a little vacation to the UK to see family and friends. She just got back last night. So as soon as I am finished with the library music we will work to finish her CD. It really is coming along nicely. Hopefully, no more interruptions!

And some really special news. I supplied some music for a little documentary produced by the staff at the Detroit Free Press about a home for boys who are a little difficult to adopt out. It was a beautiful documentary but we thought it was only going to be shown on the Free Press website. But somehow it managed to get on television and then somehow got nominated for an Emmy in a new category involving news documentaries. And lo and behold! it actually won it's Emmy! I can now say I am an Emmy winner! How cool is that! I'll have to buy my Emmy though because the entire documentary won as a whole project and just received the one Emmy. But it's just great to know I am entitled to one. If you check out the Detroit Free Press website you can find out more info. It really was a very special and lovely documentary and the Emmy will bring more attention to the home and the children who live there. It's all very cool!

That's the new news peps! I'll keep you posted on the progress of Karen's CD and any other cool stuff that might come along.

Hope all is well out there!

Peace and Love
Steve

Wow Steve...Congratulations on winning an Emmy for Best Documentary category..That's quite an achievement more ways than one..Such a worthy cause that really exploded in a positive manner.
I worked Detroit for years shooting for music agencies, and was always a Big Fan of the Detroit Free Press, and all they they stood for over the years. Even more meaningful was that after college i worked for 4 years as teacher in resident, photography instructor, and house parent for a private facility called Beech Acres for "the lost children" whom were labled "emotionally disturbed"..Yet out of the 86 kids only 4 were orphans..the rest were dumped off by their parents, or wards of the court.
Those 4 years were some of the most special in my life. Just as your own children are to you, and Karen. Id like to know Steve do you all know if that got picked up by PBS, Independent Eye, or POV??
If you ever find out who is distributing this really special piece please let us know. Quite an acheivement my friend...I applaud you, and so do the kids.

Best of luck on the crap shoot, of a really interesting submissions to the German music library
company..I soooo remember when you requested online for any gigs regarding film, or any related
scores or soundwork for you to fill that void. Someday when all the vibes are right, id love to hear
some samples of all the pieces you've scored or contributed to in the States, and overseas. Without
a doubt you have one of the more diverse disographies around.

You made my day on this award, even moreso the nature of its subject...The Lost Kids. Be interesting to see how much an Emmy costs? If not we ALL will chip in and donate..!!!!!!! Why not? You're one of the Best, not only as a musician, and humanitarian, but a really special guy all the way around.

Glad your daughter got the shots Steve..And that Karen got to go the UK.

Cheers to One of All Time Favorite Musicmeisters...!!

Always
Tim
