I guess I never hit a golf ball, cuz' I thought it would be boring....or I simply wouldn't hit the ball. No sport is as good on TV as it is in real life and if you get off on actually doing it, that's awesome. Well, today I hit golf balls for the first time and not only did I love it, I was a friggin' natural. I've never done anything the first time and been good at it. I mean, the dude next to us was shouting "amazing" to the extent I was embarrassed.
When you play music on stage, you connect with something. You and the guitar, or you and the audience, or you and the band....in golf, it's just you and the ball. Focused, centered and singular. We'll see what happens the second time, since I lean towards beginners luck with a lot of things. Regardless, I am clearly reminded of the true value of doing things you've never done before.
