Well last weekend i completed my 4th Pier to Pub moving me one step closer to the Shark bait club (10 completed swims). The Pier 2 Pub swim is one of the largest open water swims in the worl and this year had about 4000+ plus swimmers of various shapes, sizes, ages and ability. I plodded along in the pack to finsih in 26:07 which is about my fatest time. Although I figure if i trained a little harder that will get better, maybe next year i'll think about that. It was a great day with good conditions, the water was a little cold at 17 degrees but the wetsuit kept me warm. I still had to contend with lunatics who have no courtesy and try and swim directly over you, but the occasionl punch and this time, when someone tried to swim over my legs i doubled my kick and left them with a sore nose!!!. You would think that they could work out to swim around you hey, we are in an ocean after all not a pool lane. As george Costanza would say "We are living in a society.....!!!!" All in all it was a pleasant day and again it's something i want to achieve, 10 swims and one day, just one day i might get there. Swim on i say!!!!!
