It's Been A Long Day's Night
Once again, it has been ages since I have put quill to parchment, but I tell you, nothing can keep me away from the amazingness that is Wizard Rock. I may have life events, I may have graduations, weddings, et cetera, but what I will not have is leaving Wizard Rock. You all are my lifeblood in the musical stream that is my creativity. So, I begin with a great and graniose thank you, to fans, non-fans, bands and anyone who has helped our movement in any way, large and small. That aside, I must say, it has been an amazing, phenomenal year. Time to give you the low-down. Hufflepuffs Have Gained A New Family!
Being the happiest day of my temporal life, and that being a gross understatement, I am proud to announce my marriage on July 12th, 2008 to my beautiful wife, Kelly. Pictures galore (more than 400!) will be online by the morning, and you can go here to check when they're posted. While not everyone believes in the concept of marriage, and I respect that, I cannot deny I believe wholeheartedly in the incomparable joy and depth that unconditional love brings. I am humbled to have this opportunity to serve such a wonderful woman in a unique capacity. Not to mention, keeping me on task for Wrock is going to be much easier ^_~. Busy Again...So What?!
Valid as that statement is, I have had the time and unique opportunity to work uninterrupted on my craft, and have found so many amazing ways to work with it, that the album work has become much, much larger than I ever anticipated. I have new appreciation for the amount of time that goes into a full-length album. (^_~) While saying anything else would give too much away, I will also not commit to any dates, as I have learned from my scheduling mistakes in the past. All I'll say is, constant vigilance! More will be coming, and I promise, you're totally gonna dig it!!! (^_^)
Still in the Ocean
In addition to completing my degree in Japanese at the wonderful University of Hawai'i at Manoa, graduating and getting married, I became employed as a System Engineer (glorified programmer) at a Japanese company in...Hawai'i. (big surprise). So while that continues the hurdle of 2,500 miles between myself and most of the Wrock community, nothing will keep me from the wrock! What that means yet, I can't say, but details will be forthcoming.
Schedule Update
I am proud to announce that the Badger Brief will become a regularly released item, in order to help keep everyone in touch with what I'm doing, and with the general Wrock scene in Hawai'i. More features will be added, and possible a guest writer (but I'm not promising that one yet ^_~). As such, the established schedule will now be a bi-weekly format, to be changed as need (to either weekly or monthly). Changes in distribution will be announced in advance.
At last, I'd like to thank you for stcking with me, and for having faith and hope. We may be a community of learners, but we're an awesome, growing community that is constantly becoming more and more mature in our art and organisation. I commend you all for that. Oh, and thanks for letting me stick around for two incredible years.
Squeefully yours, ~*Jon*~
