"The country-leaning rock-and-roll trio the Wowz traffic in polished harmonies and the occasional twang, but behind the rough folk façade there’s a great deal of wit and allusion, and a deeply urban core—the Everly Brothers with a New York accent. Joining the bill is Paleface, whose husky voice, cadenced strumming, and choo-chooing harmonica suggest a life on the road. (He’s been on tour with the drummer Monica Samalot since 2007.) Also with Ching Chong Song. Julia LaMendola’s mellifluous voice and haunting musical-saw bowing compliment Daniel Gower’s theatrical piano and vocal harmonies in this unique cabaret-like duo."
