'it's so good to be walking together my friend'
Ah I miss Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Traveling Texas just reminds me of his music in a way no where else can.
Hard hitting Texas country rock. LIke hang ten on a surf board. All ten toes, over the front of the board...no fear.
40 years on the road
this year....more on than off.
It never gets old. the
house concerts that emerged recently (in the past 10 years) have made the
touring make financial sense/cents. Thank goodness for those folks opening
their homes, churches, community centers, friendship halls to the road weary
muse-led peoples honing their art on the ears of the listener/venue provider
peoples. Thanks to you for making these spaces available to us.
Moreover, thank you for
making a space for the muse. Your communities are deeper and richer for your
creation. When I come before your groups and sing for you, I am watching you
from the stage, seeing the bond between you, knowing I am right where I long to
be, among people who think together and work together and who care about the
quality of life for themselves and their cohorts and families. It is an honor
to be given this space with you. I never want to take it for granted. I listen to you,
see your intent, benefit from your hard work to break through the silence in
your community and to create a communion with your neighbors. I benefit. Thank
you. It's an honor to be presented by you. it's been 40 years of building this
community, and of searching for you. I have searched for you for a long time. I
need you, because the beauty of this community is the art of the muse, it doesn't
go just one way: me singing to you. It is a two way street, with so many
wonderfully talented people coming together to share each other's creations. I
learn if I keep my ears and eyes and heart open.
Thanks to all 'BOB'S' at
ANDERSON FAIR and Ken Gaines and Wayne Wilkerson in Houston for holding space
for Teresa and me. Thanks to all of the folks who showed up so closely after
Kerrville festival.
Huge deep thanks to Paul
Barker, who held a concert for us at the WILD BASIN nature preserve in Austin.
What a beautiful place, 250 acres of wildlife in the fragrant hills west of
Austin. Paul is a powerful engine to the concert series vehicle. He teaches
people how to hold their own series, and how to bring the community together. I
am a huge fan, as well as a grateful artist in his caring stead.
Tom Prasada Rao and Cary
Cooper's house concert was a fabulous gathering at the last minute! They are an
amazing musical couple, each with their own special talent, and it's such an
honor to be presented by them to their friends and family!
You MUST look up their
music, and buy it when you find it!

Thanks Tom and Cary for
making us feel so at home and loved.
Tonight,
Teresa and I play the last show of this mini TX/OK/CA tour with Glen and Lagina Pilant in Norman, Ok, just outside of OKC. A beautiful space, looking forward to it! I am crying that this is the last of the shows with Teresa this tour. Just make sure you get to see/hear/experience Teresa Tudury at least ONCE in your lifetime, and then you will be sure to go back again and again.
She is a delightfully hilarious gifted lyric writer/opratic to theatric to deadbone seriously right on target performer who will win you at 'HELLO'.
