The live album is done! The live album is done!
It's called "Now That
It's Burning" and consists of 14 tracks recorded live at concerts and radio stations in 2008 and 2009. It's got songs from Hand Me
Down and Beautiful and Treacherous Thing plus several that will be included on our next studio album.
The songs were
recorded all over: in Chicago; St. Louis; Paw Paw, Michigan; and
Johnson
City, Tennessee. We tried to replicate a live concert experience: it's
very acoustic--mostly vocals, acoustic guitars and mandolin; it's very natural--no overdubs, no second takes; and the song order follows the setlists we've been
using lately at our shows.
Another fun feature: Doug Zylstra finally gets to play the bass line he wrote for "Mexico"
on a recording.
A couple of other notes:
'Now That It's Burning' is an electronic-only album--we're not
pressing any physical CDs.
Also, we'll be selling the album at our shows as a download card--a little business
card-looking thing that enables you to download the record using a secret code number, similar to an iTunes giftcard.
Ok then! Get to the downloadin'! (Thanks!)
