Whats twisting our nipples October 2008

WHY IS ‘Faith No More’  TWISTING CASEY'S NIPPLES?

These guys are amazing. i saw them live in one of their first shows back together and they killed it. They rocked the festival and they were definately one of my favourite bands of the whole festival. Check them out for sure, they rock.

Listening to it is the only explanation required.

WHY IS ‘Tight Knit’ by Vetiver TWISTING WALSH'S NIPPLES?

The first time I heard about Vetiver was at a Devendra Banhart gig in London in 2004 when Vetiver’s singer/songwriter Andy Cabic was part of Devendra live band.  Vetiver’s music is lush and emotionally stirring folk music and was the spring board for my love of other bands such as Fleet Foxes.  Vetiver are Folk by classification, Fun at heart and Powerful in direction, It seems to be a common trend in this month’s WHATS TWISTING OUR NIPPLES to direct you to find out for yourself why we are digging these things so, but sometimes it’s  just better to find out for yourself.  If you find yourself falling for Vetiver get yourself a copy of each album as you’ll find gems in each one and hear the band developing through each relase.
p.s. check out ‘Amour Fou’ off their 2004 self titled album

WHY IS ‘Asukusa Jinta’ TWISTING ABS’ NIPPLES?

Here's another slice of Japan for ya. I'm digging the tattoo beats of Asukusa Jinta, a Japanese street marching band. These guys base their stuff on ye olde, 1930's era big band music, Japanese style (no msg), and incomporate elements of fuck-off punk, hard and furious rockabilly and, my favourite, the polka with super-fast happy-time ichi-ban brass melodies. Number one ichi-ban guarantee, arrrrrrround the world, why not?
