" At last, a local duet that stands out from the pack. With their debut album Latitud, Isla de los estados has undoubtedly added a great deal to argentinian music. Not only through the outstanding sound quality, as this is a collection of beautiful songs with lyrics that will not make you cringe, as is so often with argentine lyricists. Loló Gasparini ( vocals in Zuker XP, Gustavo Cerati and Altocamet) and Flavio Etcheto (Melero, Resonantes, Cerati, Ocio) make for a perfect duo. Loló is sophisticated and stylish without falling into pointless vocal swagger. Her expressive, placid voice is reminiscent of Miguel Abuelo..s detailed singing, as if the words were not for rushing, singing every note with the calm kindness they deserve. Flavius, the man behind the programming, masterfully prepares the atmosphere for Loló to dive into sounds that effortlessly blend dub, hip-hop, rock and electro-pop. The result is a soundscape of perfect harmony where the senses are deeply stimulated. No wonder the album artwork (designed by Alejandro Ros) plays with the idea of a puzzle. It is as if both of them together have managed to complete a picture where sounds, rhythm and lyrics combine for a unique, personal album.
To top it off, the album includes three remixes by Canu, Ismael Pinkler and Mr. Replicante, all re-interpretations to complement the nine original tracks of the album."
