My religion professor last semester had us make up our own religion in groups and present it to the class. The class then voted on which one they were most likely to practice.
Beatism was based on having Tupac as our Buddah and respecting the rhythm of music in order to get the "afterparty" when you pass on.
Our religion won over a majority of our classmates and we all ended up with A's on our presentation.
Professor Prothero wrote an article about religion and our generation for USA Today and he mention's *Beat*-ism
Read it here: Is Religion Losing the Millennial Generation?
It's in the 4th paragraph under the "Dogma Aversion" section.
Awesome right?? I'm finding this so surreal right now.
You know you want to practice *Beat*ism
