It's reached the end. After 2 1/2 years of countless miles traveled and 15+ shows (I lost count actually), I'm ready to move on. Largely because it's not the same anymore and I would rather remember good times we all had.
I've met so many people over that amount of time and a handful that have become some of my closest/best friends. I would not have had it any other way. I mean, you don't fly across the country just so you can go to three shows or go to bamboozle alone (I still don't know how I'm alive to be honest) for just any band, right? And no, I'm not a groupie.
I'll admit, I'm going to miss those last minute greyhound bus rides to New York City, Philadelphia, Rhode Island or wherever else we decided to journey to, mainly because we knew it was worth it. I got a taste of what life was like on the road with people that I grew to become friends with, an experience that I would not have had otherwise. I can only wish that people got to do what I did because it's the best feeling in the world to be so close to the music that you love.
Hotel rooms, MC Hammer, Snoop Dogg, condom throwing, advice giving, skipping classes, driving until we couldn't see straight, waking up on floors, "I just wanna party/i'll just sleep here", sketchy homeless people, "letster", city streets, Bamboozle, cab rides, bleeker and broad, times square at 3am, "matt, where's the green line?," hand-stamps to wristbands, drink tickets, load-ins, load-outs, "yeah i can do the soulja boy; watch", carrying shit, convincing people to buy merch, backstage/green rooms, late-night eating at random pizza places, and so much more. I'll miss it.
I don't know what else to say, except for: Thank you, it's been fun.
~memories.
