The association

OKUP is French local right association from Strasbourg.

Its aim is to establish a cultural network within abroad Europe, through the creation of artistic events in The European Union and the Balkan states.

The festival

Caravan festivals are places of encounters that allow European creators to look for a common language through different artistic practices.
The artists explore new ways of working, go beyond the traditional schemes and rethink a new practice of art inside the urban environment

A whole series of events was imagined as a twinning and a constant exchange back and forth between the two neighborhoods, two parts of town.
Some of the events will occur in Hautepierre and some in the centre of Strasbourg.

The project

…  Ab Re will aim at telling this filmic-musical story about this sociological phenomenon in cooperation with the musicians from France, mostly Yves Beraud, as well as with the artists from the film industry. It is our idea to have the entire story on stage, with the simultaneous screening of videos in the background. As for the musical part of the program, it would begin with the exclusively traditional sound performed at the beginning. Throughout the concert, the sound would modify, becoming more and more contemporary, taking in the elements of pop and rock music, and still keeping the traditional motifs.
As mentioned before, during the concert we would project videos in the background, which would support the musical expression. In the first part of the concert, videos would picture rural areas in Serbia (film directed by Vladimir Milisavljevic) and their inhabitants. Videos in the second part of the concert would be about Hautepierre (film directed by Franck Mahmudian) …
