really enjoyed my three shows here in Australia...it's been great to play the new songs alongside the old,and weave in and out with the crowds...great warm feelings coming back...and a poignancy that comes from the knowledge that Simen the Norwegian will only have one more show with us in Auckland on Dec 1st at the Monte Cristo, before he returns to Norway..he Brett and I have something really special...it's true what they say about a 3 piece band...it's kind of the perfect thing...constant tension and release, with everyone needed all the time...Hendrix,Cream,early CH....you know what I mean....so on to Poor Boy which begins rehearsals Dec 8th in Melb...thanks to everyone who came to the shows...and to those who couldn't,I'll be doing more touring in Feb/March 09..Go Obama!

Great to hear Tim, sadly I was unable to make it to Sydney so I am especially looking forward to Feb/March now
Safe travels home and indeed Go Obama

Yay, my notifications are working again! Thanks for the great shows, Tim. I have to agree the three of you work really well together, it's been great watching the band develop since the US shows into something really amazing. It just got better and better with time! I hope the three of you can work together again in the future, but perhaps in the meantime it would be great to see Eddie make at least a guest appearance at some point (just not this Auckland show 'cos that should be Simen's time to shine).

hi timmy, i and at least 3 other of your US fans i'm in good touch with, worked our tailfeathers off to help mr. obama. many, many happy tears last night. we are very proud but there is a lot to do in terms of mending fences with the other 41%, and in making sure our expectations are not too high to allow change to happen at the speed it ever can in government. we are hopeful and energized...something many of us have not felt in several years. my favorite statement of any that have been flying around today is: "Rosa sat, so Martin could walk, so Barack could run, so their children can fly." AWESOME times.

I'm relieved to hear there will be more shows soon-ish. Come to CANBERRA, pleeeaaaase!!! I've already got three concerts I plan to go to in Sydney in the next 6-7 months (including CH), so it'd be really nice to be able to stay in town for once. Forgot to ask my mum if she's going to see Poor Boy - she's a subscriber to STC & I was very excited to see that in the list.
Will you actually be performing in the play or is the music recorded?

Great show last night in Melbourne Tim, thanks so much. Loved hearing some of the new tunes plus you guys really rocked with the some of the old stuff, especially Dirty Creature (I thought Simen was going to break his keyboard, the boy can play for sure!!). Looking forward to seeing you back here again in the new year, and also Poor Boy, so please take care and best wishes until then. And as for Mr Obama, what a breath of fresh air he is and so very needed for our American friends.
Not only was it a great day for them but also for the whole world, way to go!

Tim, glad you're home safe. Though unable to attend the Oz shows, I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of The Conversation. Here in the States, we are rightly humbled by the election of Mr. Obama, and hopefully, now we can begin mending the fences we've damaged all these many years. Most of us here are now tearfully smiling, something we haven't done in a very long time. The Conversation comes at a much needed time. Your music always heals my heart, and inspires me to carry on with kindness and hope in my soul. Please come back to NYC soon. We love you. "Break a leg," with 'Poor Boy!"

Hi Tim, I'm super-happy to hear that you are in great spirits! I met Simen after your San Francisco show and he was so down-to-earth, warm and delightful. I'm the one who gave you the Dagoba lavender dark chocolate bar and the Momokawa sake - I sure hope you enjoyed both, and that Elliot liked her bracelet! I look forward to seeing you next year in San Francisco when you tour the "Conversation" and I also hope to interview you for the San Jose Mercury News and/or San Francisco Chronicle. (I'm a writer) take care & all my best, Dyane Leshin-Harwood

Tim, glad to see that you supported Obama. I am happy to be one of the many millions in the U.S. to feel likewise and are joyous at the opportunity to regain our moral standing throughout the world.

Best regards, Alan Oken

Your Melbourne show really brought the songs to life for me, and I now love the album.

Pleased to hear that you'll tour next Feb/March - very much hoping that Simon and Brett can join you for that. If not, can we at least have Mareaa Patterson back with you again (sp?)?

The Spirit is shifting and becoming restless - go Obama indeed!!

The Melbourne show was really good and the three-piece worked perfectly. Kath out of Kath and Kim nearly tripped over my foot. I was amazed that she looks just the same (sans curly wig) in real life as she does in the show. Same dress sense and same manic, slightly fierce gait. I loved Brett's playing and I rarely love guitarists - at best I usually tolerate them. But he played melodically instead of just banging away at riffs, scales and "atmospheres" all night.
He's a keeper!

Excellent show in BRISBANE, thankyou VERY much for coming. Did thank Simen and Brett, and have to agree, you have two great bloody muso's. Simen rocked out on those Enz numbers, got to be happy with that, I know the crowd were ! Great to see you in fine spirits. Alot of people were spewing on the short notice, of the gig, so you'll no doubt get a great turn out in Feb next year, at least you won't be snowbound in Aus. :o) So hello from a myspace friend, even though you don't read this. ;o) cheers Kelly

We're glad you've gone home happy! :) It's a pity that Simen has to go home, but I trust that instead of dwelling on that, you'll instead celebrate the good times you did share as a band. Best of luck with Poor Boy - it will be worth checking out to be sure. And we'll definitely be at your Brisbane show in early 2009! You continue to inspire us Tim - hopefully one day soon we'll be doing the same for others! Cheers, Ant & Andrew (Feint Ruled Line - aka "the brothers Swann")

Hi Tim,

My husband, Alan Cole, has asked me to enquire as to whether you may be related to him - cousin?
Does the name Olive Ketel mean anything to you? Pls reply.

Just listened to some of your music - very enjoyable - don't know why he hasn't mentioned you before!!!!

Kind regards,
Penny Cole
