If you missed out on seeing Tim Finn perform songs from his latest album ‘The Conversation’ late last year then there’s no reason to let his national February 2009 tour pass you by. Finn, the extraordinarily gifted singer/songwriter from Te Awamutu New Zealand, announces a string of up close and intimate shows across the country next month in what will be a unique opportunity for fans to experience ‘The Conversation’ coming to life.

Quite easily Tim’s most organic, celebratory and intimate album yet, ‘The Conversation’ was released in November and was warmly received throughout the Australian media... "Finn’s eighth solo album, The Conversation, is full of delicious melodies, seductive harmonies and heaven-sent chord progressions.  Many of the songs are about the troubadour’s contentment with his marriage and home life in NZ."  West Australian.

Finn remains one of music’s most revered and respected artists. From founding member of iconic art-rock pioneers Split Enz, to his contributions in Crowded House, ALT and The Finn Brothers. Above all, Finn has enjoyed a rich and accomplished solo career that includes many of this country’s most loved songs. But don’t think for a minute Tim Finn is content resting on his laurels. He continues to push himself artistically and creatively with new material and still draws inspiration from today’s generation of singer/songwriters.

Don’t miss Tim Finn live in February 2009 on ‘The Conversation Tour’. Tickets on sale now.

"Tim Finn is on stage, acoustic guitar in hand, greying locks, confident, chatty, proud of his new songs.  And he’s doing to a Brisbane crowd what’s he’s be doing these past 30-something years.  Blowing them away."

So, if you're after inspiration for the setlist, Beginning of the Enz springs to mind, pretty much anything from that album, also, not played much from early in your solo career, might we hear some? Time will tell.

cheers Kelly

oh yes please! that would be really apt, considering the material on The Conversation.
Who's going to be in the band, I wonder?

I second Alan's comment it's been way too long since you've toured here. I can't see me moving back to Oz any time soon so I just have to hope you decide to tour blighty sometime soon. I got The Conversation just before Christmas... all I can say is that it's faultless.
You should be proud :D

hooray! Booked my tickets for the Sydney show today after gathering one friend and one sister to come along with me for dinner and show - I've wanted to go to the Basement since I was underage (back when Kate Ceberano was just hitting the big time!) so it's about time!! I'm not sure whether to tell my five year old why I'm off to Sydney - he won't understand why I'm not bringing him along, seeing as he reckons he's a bigger fan than I am (what rubbish!) - maybe you'll sign his precious CD cover for him and pose for a photo with me so he realises you are a REAL person, as opposed to those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles....

hey Tim - thanks for the photo and signed CD covers - my son now seems to "get" that you are, in fact, real! Now, don't forget the words: "When they saw me the sellers of lies Could hardly wait to begin" :-) - you really did make a Great Return after that! Here's the links to those youtube videos of James singing Couldn't be Done and Still the Song - if you do get a look at them, leave a comment - James would be so thrilled!!

Have been playing the "Shall be released" version you did recently with Lilith Lane, over and over - loving it! Would love to see an entire Tim and Lilith gig...(for those who haven't seen this - go to sbs. com. au/rockwiz and click on past performances - you can also check out his solo performance from Rockwiz that same night). Would love to be at Northcote Social Club in a few days - not sure if will get there though :(......best Tim Finn gig I have ever been at was at Hanging Gardens (think that's what it was called) at Cardiff University - waaaaaay back in 1989.
Just you and Jerry Marotta on stage - what a treat!

Thanks for the compliment last night at The Northcote Social club ;).

I had a great time and loved that you played Forever Thursday ( I have heard the song Tin Soldier a million times but never thought about the lyrics until 'Thursday came along) and The Saw and The Tree.
