If there was ever an "Influence: Volume 2" CD, and you could request a song, what would you like to hear Shaw Blades cover?

Yes a new CD would be great! And of course the tour that goes along with it. That is a very tough question! So many great songs to choose from. Would be cool to hear your version of Ready For Love from Bad Company. Saw you twice at Ram's Head in Annapolis. My wife had the Styx 1977 World Tour T-Shirt on, I wanted to give it to you, she said she wanted to wear it. Maybe next time.

Sounds like you already have enough responses here for a fantastic CD!
I love the suggestions of:

Drift Away
No Sugar Tonight
All Right Now

I can picture you guys singing all three of those!

I would love to see you guys cover something by Bread, such as:

Make It With You
If
Baby I'm-A Want You

Any or all three of those would sound awesome done by you guys!

Hey Guys,
PLEASE do not do Stairway...

Instead, consider:
A Beatles tune (Nowhere Man, I've Got a Feeling, Don't Let Me Down, I Want You, etc., no "Fab Four" stuff)
A Buddy Holly tune (Heartbeat, Well...Alright, Crying Waiting Hoping, Not Fade Away, etc.)

Midnite Special
Cottonfields
Rebel Rebel (Bowie)
Hair of the Dog
Shooting Star (Bad Co)

I could go on and on.....

What a wonderful question! Thanks for asking. Let me rack my brain for my favorite acoustic (or potentially acoustic) vocal harmonies.

I agree with No Sugar Tonight and Sister Golden Hair. Here are my additions to the list...

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You or Over the Hills and Far Away (Led Zeppelin)
Hold On or Magic Power (Triumph)
Wooden Ships, Carry On (CSN)
anything by The Eagles (Victim of Love, Peaceful Easy Feeling, One of these Nights)
Paint It Black (Rolling Stones)
In My Life or Norwegian Wood (Beatles)
You're My Best Friend (Queen)
Going Mobile (The Who)

I know I'll think of more very soon! Thanks again!

Barb:

I totally agree on "Magic Power" and "Norwegian Wood." How about some Southern Rock? I'm thinkin' "Train, train" by Blackfoot? I do especially like the idea of something by America, Jim Croce, Loggins-Messina, or another Simon-Garfunkel song. Then again, you guys could sing the telephone book and make it sound good!

Awesome that you asked our opinion!

OMG< what a great suggestion...Hold On or Magic Power by Triumph (Rik Emmett). I have wished Tommy would get together with Rik for soooooooooooooooooo many years. If that can't happen, how awesome would it be for him to do one of his outstanding songs?!?!?!

Great suggestion Rockin' Barb!

"Moondance" or "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison
"Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" CSNY (those harmonies kill me!)
"My Girl" The Temptations, or almost anything "Motown"
"Horse with no name" America

Now here's 2 that may be a little out there (or not!)
"Call My Name" from Night Ranger's Dawn Patrol album. I've always wanted to hear a stripped down acoustic version of this song.
"I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home"---Grand Funk Railroad. Tommy & Jack & Mark Farner singing together---3 of the best voices in rock together----you'd have to peel me off the ceiling!!!

Michigan is still waiting for the Shaw/Blades bus....... :-D
