Dear friend,
Hi, Finian Makepeace of the Makepeace Brothers here, reminding you that, if you have not registered, there is still time left to REGISTER TO VOTE. For some of you, this deadline might have already passed but for many of you there is still more then a week left to register! So, if you have not registered you can register now! Click here! It only takes three minutes and an envelope and stamp!
http://www.voteforchange.com/
We are also asking you to take a few minutes and pass this message along to all of your contacts because there still might be many of your friends, colleagues, and family members who have yet to register to vote. Many of us need just a little reminder to get the forms in. Take me for example, I just registered because we moved recently and I needed my address corrected.
Things to consider.
1. As we have seen in recent elections, the votes in many States can be very close -this means every vote counts.
2. Thinking that your State will vote the way you want, because that is what has been projected in the media, does not mean that you don't need to vote (imagine if everyone thought this and decided they did not need to vote - it would be terrible).
3. Because there will be many places, like in the last election, where the vote count is suspect (i.e., Florida) we need to make sure that there is an overwhelming voter turnout.

Why I am voting for Barack Obama:
As much as I would like to say that it is important for you to simply vote for who you think is the best candidate, I can not.
We are at a crucial time in the history of ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />America and the world. What we choose to do, and where we choose to put our energy as individuals and as a nation during the next eight years, will be extremely pivotal in the health of the world and the future of humanity. For many years we have been being threatened by our own unwillingness to change our direction as a nation (e.g., still using more and more oil that produces carbon and affects climate change, and allowing massive deregulation). The threat is not just to those living now but to future generations. If we don't act now, than when? If we are not the ones to demand this change, than who? It is really up to us, as citizens of America, to come together and recognize that we have the power to make a difference: after all, it is supposed to be a government by the people for the people. Electing someone who promises to help galvanize our efforts is extremely important.
Americans are a very resilient and hard working people. We have been responsible for countless innovations that have changed the way humanity works, and its time to do it again. We need to develop green technology, develop alternative energy sources, and allow for America to gain back respect throughout the world. When Barack Obama says that, "John McCain promises more of the same", this is not just rhetoric, it's based on what that McCain says he will do in the future, and what he has voted to do in the past.
Voting for Barack Obama is a vote for possibility, progress, and a sustainable economy. If we ask ourselves who can help us stay inspired to make choices that will collectively make the difference we need, the finger points to Barack Obama. The truth is, there will be decisions made and programs that need to be put into place that will include and affect us all. We need a president who can be bold and direct in following through with plans to do what needs to be done.
Be an optimist, believe that Yes WE CAN!
