Current mood:  grateful

I just got back home yesterday form a tour of the Middle East where I entertained Defence force personnel. I had the time of my life. For security reasons I am not permitted to discuss all of the locations, and as I developed a real bond and a great respect for the brave men and women I met I will keep my mouth shut.

One place I can discuss is in the Sinai Desert. About five hours out of Cairo. This place is made up of servicemen and women from various countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, US, Fiji. Their job is to monitor and observe activities and basically keep the peace between Israel and Egypt.

They showed us a great time and having the opportunity to meet and perform for them was easily a life highlight. On the last day they busted their guts to drive us through the desert to get us to the pyramids before they closed. Thats right they close the Pyramids. Go figure.

The Markets are nuts, everyone tries to sell you something. The driving is insane needs to be seen to be believed. The Egyptians love Australians and some have picked up some Austalian Lingo. My favorite comment was from a man that said " Australia! Flat out like a lizard drinking!"
